The FA-idiots are a disgrace. The picture shows that players are just asking a question, no threats or Hart-headbutting, it's not even heated. The FA-idiots are beyond reproach - they meet accusations of refs favouring the big clubs by charging a "small" club for challenging the favoritism. They are taking the old adage of the best form of defense is attack to a new level. Total ****ers!

Edit: why is the spell-checker on this forum American English?

Actually, although we have seven players shown in that photo, only four of them are around the ref.

Dunne, Fer & Sandro are behind the ref & are showing no sign of harrasment what so ever.

Well done TF for publicly backing the players in this matter.

Apparently Sunderland have been charged relating to the penalty awarded to Everton and the aftermath of that incident.....now in my mind a clearer penalty you would not see but what they succeeded in doing was to fluster Mason so much that he over looked the fact that Wickham should have been sent off....yet more rank poor officiating.....

I stand by my players who I though behaved in an examplery fashion. I didn't know the rule . what's wrong in asking .

    Tony Fernandes@tonyfernandes · 12 t12 tuntia sitten
Anyway we will get clarification. If we are wrong we are wrong and we accept but consistency is key . apply the rules fairly.

Totally amazing. Very hard to believe.

Does any one what what the potential fine is should the club be found guilty?

For about 10 whole minutes yesterday I was in full support of the FA over the FIFA report nonsense but now this. Great work guys. I would bet that the English FA were the only football association stupid enough to get caught trying to butter up FIFA reps for support.

The inconsistency is mind boggling...I know they have been trying to crack down on players surrounding refs in recent years and I support that, but there didn't appear to be much malice from our players and it certainly wasn't that aggressive. Were the missed handball and offside not punishment enough??

Cheers Finn. His remark about the City fans is spot on IMO. They're still a regular sized Club at heart. Unfortunately that'll change in the coming years when the glory-hunters start filling their ranks.

    Apparently we pleaded guilty.

I'm assuming that was due to the wording in the charge & that £20k is the minimum fine.

I still think the charge should never have been brought, but perhaps the rule & wording of the charge gave us no option.

Of course, Mike Dean has dropped even further in my estimation!

If we had appealed the FA would have refused & probably have doubled it on apeal terms, bloody disgrace.

That whole incident totally pisses me off - I've seen far worse behavior from other teams with no action taken, even when they placed their hands on the ref.

What's Harry meant to do to control his players? Yell over and tell them to stop pestering the poor little excuse of a man?

QPR fined by FA over Man City free-kick controversy

QPR have been fined £20,000 by the Football Association after admitting to failing to control their players during the 2-2 draw with Manchester City.

Charlie Austin's strike for QPR was ruled out as City keeper Joe Hart had taken two touches to clear his penalty box with a free-kick beforehand.

Several QPR players surrounded referee Mike Dean to question the decision.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp said it was "a bit harsh" before adding "if that's the rule then that's the rule".

Law 13 of the game states that if a free-kick taken by a defending team inside its own penalty "is not kicked directly out of the penalty area, the kick is retaken."

QPR, who twice led against the Premier League champions before Sergio Aguero's 83rd-minute equaliser, accepted the standard FA penalty.

Let's all watch MOTD this Sat and write to the FA if we see any team surrounding the referee after a dodgy decision. They would be inundated as the likes of Chels/Man U etc have lived their lives this way.

Arsenal v Man U alone could be v interesting.

Ooh, he'll have problems deciding who to favour in that one. They're both "big" clubs!

    RefWatch – Arsenal Vs Manchester United (22/01/2012 – 16:00)

    By DogFace

    •Referee: Mike Dean
    •Assistant 1: Stuart Burt
    •Assistant 2: Adam Watts
    •4th Official: Phil Dowd

Good morning stat-fans and welcome to RefWatch… What can I say – it’s Mike Dean and Phil Dowd and we all know what that means don’t we?

Well – maybe we do and maybe we don’t – if we look at the bigger picture there are many conflicts of interest in this match with regards to the markets and the potential bias that may exist from the officials.

I mention the markets as, it seems more often than not, we are playing in yet another game that is boiling under the spotlight of maximum black market liquidity – I would estimate something in the region of three billion quid will be swilling around this market… so, I suppose, it’s just as well we have the Cheshire cat and the Staffie in charge of it i.e. men with experience.

I’m particularly interested in this match, not least because I’ll be there, but also because it’s going to be revealing in terms of exactly how it is officiated – the simple perspective is to say that all refs love Manchester United but this is not so. There are, of course, referee’s that do swerve towards Ferguson, others are more Abramovich minded, there’s the curious case of Harry Redknapp – and then there’s the power shift of influence to Manchester City combined with a manager that certainly knows how to park the big golden bus when he’s looking at a hiding to nothing and when to substitute certain players [who, for instance, like to drive around with large sums of cash on the passenger seat of their car] that may or may not be in a goal scoring mood that day… if only Wenger had his information, ruthless cynicism and influence – combined with his football mind and the resources we have he would dominate the game – and that is my only criticism of Arsène Wenger; his faith in football and love for the game… which just goes to show what a f**ed up world we live in.
