Its very sad to see a fellow welsh club in financial trouble, the fans of wrexham have raised £100,000 in a matter of days so the club can start the season and that is no mean feat, I believe that we should help wrexham be giving or loaning them a couple of million to give then a kick start they obviously need, its not as if we cant afford it now, wrexham has a great history and it would be a shame if they end up having to disband and go out of existence,...i think its right and proper to give any help we can to a welsh club that has fallen on bad times....
 
Perhaps offer to buy out tailor's sell on fee for the money they need, it is sad yes but I don't think the league would allow the swans to loan them money, and the tax man would have a say to simply donate money, but something like a sell on clause is something tangible.

I do wish Wrexham well though, and hope things will get sorted.
 
Both of the above are correct. We have to do something. Not that long ago we had the begging bowl out and other Welsh clubs and their fans helped us. A buy-out of the sell on clause should do it. Great idea.

They don't need a couple of million and neither can the Swans afford to loan anyone that much money. Wrexham have already shown that they have enough to survive the coming season, so they don't need any more.

What about Cardiff? Want to loan that fellow Welsh club a few million as well? And give Hull a few million as well while we're at it.

We could organise a collection amongst the fans, eg at the Wigan game? If this was advertised properly I'm sure that would raise quite a bit, eg a lot of fans would be ready to put in £5 or £10. Wrexham have been a big support for us over the years so we should do something for them.
 
Actually according to the BBC they have the ok to carry on playing, and mate the sell on clause gives them a sizeable amount of money, so of course they wanted it to go through, they like us are looking after their own interests
 
casual <doh>.....we were given help and now we are in a position to help a fellow welsh club on the bones of their arse, A couple of million is nothing to us.. if the rolls were reversed and wrexham were guaranteed £90 million then you would change your tune, most of us know what it was like to nearly go out of business so have a bit of passion for wrexham's plight.

Dai to reiterate we are not a charity, and whilst I have every sympathy for wrexham, they don't need saving as it's been agreed already they can continue! And they are about to be bought so it will be besides the point, think the Wrexham fans have been amazing though they deserve to get their club back in the league.
 
they are nowhere out of the woods by a long shot, they have persuaded the F.L that they can fulfill their fixtures this season but we all know that is a gamble. their players could not be paid a week ago but now have been paid, they are living on a knife edge going day by day. they definitely could do with a little help or i can see them going out of buisiness before the season ends.....I hope someone can steady the club and put some money into it....a collection would be welcomed by wrexham im sure.
 
What a ridiculous post. It's all well and good to help a club in need through a collection but to say we should give them a few million from our board to theirs is very naive. Never going to happen and I'm glad you are not running our football club. Personally I wouldn't trust you to run yourself a bath successfully

Nice idea Mabon but what about the police bill ?

Why not help out by loaning some players for the season to see if it can help get them promoted back to the FL. I reckon the likes of Tom Butler, Shaun Macdonald etc must be netter than what they've already got

It will have to be a non bubble match all the police are up in london for the next few weeks, mind you i would expect them to provide 5 or 6 to be present to give directions

I for one would need directions as unfortunately I do not follow lower league football and have no idea where their stadium is or even if they have started their season yet.

We gave us help? I don't remember any club lending us a couple of million. By all means, fans can help out if they want, but clubs shouldn't go lending other clubs money. Especially when they don't have any to lend. We're already one of the poorest Premier League clubs.

We may be guaranteed £90m, but that is over 4-5 years and most will go on wages. We also may need to pay for ground expansion, academy, etc. And you'll be the first one on here complaining if we get relegated because we can't afford another player because we gave our money away.

You don't seem to have much of a grasp of the finances of football if you think £2m is nothing. Look at Hull - also guaranteed £90m but now in a desperate financial state.
