Watford Predictions League
2015/16
The Watford Predictions League for 2015/16 will be up and running in 3 weeks time. This is the main postings thread for your predictions and has all the rules and the scoring system, which has a couple of changes from last year.
Rules: Essentially the same as last year tips should be in by half an hour before kick off times at the latest. There are 10 fixtures every week. However, this year we are hit by the staggered fixture times of the Premiership - which can change as a result of sky sports etc. The chosen fixtures will appear on here, on a weekly basis, and on the future postings thread (but never more than a month in advance). I don't want to have to update league tables during the week, and want to keep the WPL as a 'weekend' thing, so I will not be including monday evening games unless Watford are involved. This '10th' fixture will be replaced by one taken either from the Championship or from the fixtures of Udinese or Granada when appropriate.
Please note also, if you are new to the WPL, that you are only allowed to tip the same scoreline eg.1-1 up to a maximum of 4 times within your 10 weekly tips.
Scoring system:
Ten points just for remembering to tip.
3 points for correctly tipping a home win with the wrong scoreline and wrong score difference e.g you tip 1-0 and it was 3-0 etc.
5 points for correctly tipping an away win. e.g you tip 1-2 and it was 0-4 etc.
9 points for a correctly predicted draw with the wrong scoreline e.g 0-0 as against 1-1 etc.
5 additional points for the correctly predicted score difference e.g 4-1 against 3-0, or 1-2 against 0-1 etc.
All of the above are the same as last year.
25 Points for a correct scoreline e.g. 2-1 against 2-1
20 Additional points if you are the only one to tip a scoreline correctly e.g. you are the only one to tip Watford v Chelsea 5-0 and it comes up.
These two are reversed from last year.
Everything scored on Watford matches is automatically doubled (including any bonus points).
Everyone has a joker (or a Joka - in honour of our last boss) - this can be placed on any fixture apart from the Watford one. Anything which you then score on that one fixture is then doubled as if it were a Watford match. (This is new)
The bonus for being the highest weekly scorer will not apply this year.
The WPL kicks of at Old Trafford this year !

Saturday 8th August (15.00 unless otherwise stated)
Man Utd v Spurs (12.45)
Bournemouth v Aston Villa
Leicester v Sunderland
Norwich v Crystal Pal.
Chelsea v Swansea
Everton v Watford
Charlton v QPR (Championship)
Sunday 9th August
Arsenal v West Ham
Newcastle v Southampton
Stoke v Liverpool
In order to use the joker just place it next to your chosen fixture e.g. Stoke v Chelsea 4-0 (J)
