Does the job still have a good while to go Smugs?

It sounds amazing, even more so as its literally lashed it down all day here and my only fresh air has been going to the bin as I am working from home.

In all honesty mate, it's a paradise.

The countryside is spectacular, the villa is totally isolated and the pool is massive and warm.

We have no one here until the 28th of December so you'd think it was perfect. But you should never underestimate the value of family and friends. There are lads on here who'd have normally have been down here by now and I miss them. I can't get back to see my family because I can't risk infecting them.

The flights to EM Airport are 40€ return but I'd have to quarantine somewhere for 14 days. I can't fly back for a match as I've done for years

It's dreadful tbh.

All of this just magnifies the importance of friends and family and being able to enjoy the good things in life with them.

The mother in law was struggling as she didn't think she would be able to our daughter as much and she just lives 2 mins along the road so all on all were pretty lucky in that respect.

Hopefully you have a well stocked alcohol supply to keep you chilled, nothing better than sinking a few drinks on an evening next to the pool.

We've not really worked since March, since leaving Mr Tonna who told me about Glen Fuhrman, and would like one last job.

We have 2 meetings today to discuss a couple of offers. One is in Bonnieux, Provence, and the other is a 100 acre estate in Essex. They're both pretty standard roles managing the estate and staff, project managing new works, security, etc.

But we've also been asked to go to a fabulous estate in Dorset where the work would be incredibly varied and interesting. The owner has a house in France which I'd oversee. I'd be involved in various projects one of which would be moving and eventually displaying one of the biggest collections of WW2 memorabilia and vehicles in the world ... the only concern is that they're from 'the wrong side'.

I've attached a link for anyone interested but have only told Mrs Smug that it's an 800 year old Manor house.

So, WTF do I do!

It isn't everyone who gets a chance to write themselves into a piece of history. His collection is of world importance and if he converts it into a museum then It will rival the entirity of the Imperial War Museum and its sub-sites (eg Duxford). Wherever it gets sited, his museum is going to be a major tourist attraction (so maybe you could persuade him to site it in the north east - with a monorail link too! )

He just needs to add a sizeable number of pieces from the allies to add balance to the museum.

You must be gutted that Mrs Smug wasn't happy with this job, I know I'd have been planning a murder (or at least a divorce) if I were in your shoes.
