seem to remember one of Sol's past girlfriends dumped because when he wasn't training he would sit and watch the weather channel for hours to see the weather change.

If it is, Campbell's in trouble! The guy has the popular appeal of a rabies infested rat. Hated by fans of at least two of the prem clubs he played for (jumped ship from one, and the other was a sinking ship he held to ransom for his pieces of silver). And he comes across to the neutrals as a right bell-end. Mildly more appealing than Chris Eubanks in his jodhpurs and whip.

I did not know that. But let's not let facts get in th way of derailing a perfectly good thread by thinking up ridiculous Chinese meal names. We could start a thread with those!

I do agree. One does feel that a Tory starts out as a nose in the air sort while a labour baby might actually think politics is about serving others and caring

All politicians are scum at the top

It is a fact that in the top tier of politics if you are not dirty you are not trusted by anyone else, there is no such thing as a clean politician because a clean politician will have no career.

Sadly trying to fix politics by playing politics is like trying to fix a flat tyre on your bike by cycling it :D

Both belonged to a different era where politicians were in touch with the people. They held unfashionable views from those around them. I believe both were principled.

Am I not right though? He's rich and most people who are rich like the conservatives because their policies tend to keep the rich rich.

Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that a rich guy is a Tory.

Both of those people were hamgstrung by the system <ok>

Where is thier legacy one might ask? The UK is a police state, UK police a political force. The government spying on each and every citizen. Privatisation of education, public services, resources that belong to the people not "the state", the people are the state but that seems to not be realised, energy, welfare, prisons and now the TTIP agreement and TISP which mean one way permanent privatisation of the above and means for multinational corporations to take the government to court (This is actually taking you the tax payer to court because the government supposedly represent you and the national interests) over decisions the government might make as called for by those that elected them, in secret courts that cost you millions for the legal battle and then millions more if the case is lost, which it most likely will be, this removes the government's power to put people before corporate profits.

Both of those good people who achieved some success but if you consider the above.. there is no legacy left behind, look at Labour. Benn fought for 47 years and I have massive respect for the man.

Back home Labour as soon as they got into power they sold out their entire support and are finished for the immediate future, Blair did the same to Labour in the UK, as soon as they got in they sold out each and every working class person in the country. Throwing people a few bones is all they do once they get their turn at the trough

As I said, to ge to where you need to be to effect great change, you unfortunaely need the support of the devil to get there, ergo, you lose the ability to effect any real change other than the wishes of your support and affiliations and that's if assuming they started out with good intentions in the first place.

I mean, political parties are a joke, you elect locals to make up the party but ultimately they are dictated to by the party leadership, so... it's all an illusion you have a say, the only time they bend is when enough people get rightly f**ed off. Fear of pitchforks not elections is the only true influence people have.
