Once I seen that Bony was staying , all I thought about Gomis was sell him in the Jan window , if Bony commits to the season . Gomis is a bit older and if we did go down teams might not want to pay him the wages we are and he hangs out for his entire contract with us in the Championship for great , guaranteed wages .
We need him roof, we cant go through the season in the premiership with just two good strikers, 3 good strikers is pushing it at this level otherwise we could end up with young donnelly as our top striker should bony or emms get injured or in bony's case away at the African cup. we need gomis..
The 2015 AFC Asian Cup will be the 16th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, an international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). For the first time in its history, the tournament will be hosted outside the continent of Asia, by AFC member nation Australia from 9 to 31 January 2015
Then get enother striker dai , after Gomis possibly departs for Newcastle , someone less of a finacial risk .If Gomis or Bony leave , preferably Gomis , get someone in who is younger and sellable in the big picture , without hanging on to a huge wage to someone maybe unsellable because of age and wage , a wage we are comitted to.
What good would a striker be for us on low wages ? He wouldn't be very good would he. We are in the big league now and if you are going to compete then you have to pay the wages, I remember Papa Smirf of leeds praying for relegation so he could cut the wage bill and when you look at what gate money they were getting (over double) what we get then you can see why we are in need of financial backing.....the premiership is where the money is but that is counter balanced by the very high cost it takes to stay there. The longer we remain in the premiership the more expensive it becomes. We are nearly at the stage of not being able to get the caliber of players we need to survive because we cant afford it. Like i say lets enjoy it while we are here because if we don't get sufficient financial backing in the future then we wont be able to compete for much longer....
"The longer we remain in the premiership the more expensive it becomes. We are nearly at the stage of not being able to get the caliber of players we need to survive because we cant afford it. " I'm not saying this is correct or incorrect, but I'm having trouble following the logic. How does time in the Division equate to an increase in an inability to manage finances frugally? I fully accept that to stay in this League we have to pay a lot - I get it - but not getting the calibre of players we need to survive? I've seen no evidence of that yet. Sorry don't get it.
Well its simple logic really dragon. the longer we stay in the premiership the more it will cost through inflation, Players who sign new contracts get a better deal or they will go elsewhere and seeing as we are very limited in what comes into the club then every season gets more expensive. We are desperate for some sort of financial backing i have been told because the £5m players wont be what we need in the future, we will need £10m + players and we are a very small club and will never be able to sustain that level without a huge financial boost. Jinx is very concerned about the way things are going and has even done a u-turn on playing some league matches abroad. He was dead against clubs doing this but he now realizes that may be the way forward to survive. We are not alone in this by the way as there are 3 or 4 maybe more that are in the same situation but like jinks says we are the least backed club financially than everyone else.
