Who would have guessed that Liverpool was Carroll's iceberg?

We already know that he loves Newcastle and that in the right set up he can score around 18-20 goals a season if not more.

It's better than relying on Shola and Best, and on form he's better than Rhodes and Luuk De Jong.

He has the potential to be England's number one striker, just needs to lay off the drink a bit and stay out of the front pages in the paper and have more time in the back pages.

for 15million or less i would take him back yes but at the same time we could probably get a better player for that price. also, without nolan, barton ect would he be as effective? i'd still have him, but the limit would be 15 mil and 45k a week but i wouldn't be too disappointed if we got someone else, say erdinc, who it seems was carr's 2nd choice (behind the beast that is gameiro) instead. part of me would love to bring carroll back though, 20mil profit from liverpool and a young, geordie, full english international with a huge point to prove. wont happen though.

There's no guarantee he'll score 20 goals, even when he had that good half season for us it was bound to hit a rough patch sooner rather than later.

There's nothing wrong with long balls to a big striker as long as you don't end up like Stoke and using it too much and constantly lumping up balls, and fouling players.

Having too big strikers up front = Winning more aerial battles and more possession, more of a threat from set plays, better defensive strength from set plays.

Sometimes it means you lack pace up front, but Ba has great pace, and Carroll isn't slow. Carroll isn't quick, but he's not slow. He's got a powerful stride.

In terms of winning things in the air, Carroll is better than any of our players. Ba's heading accuracy on goal is better, but Carroll is class when it comes to beating players in the air, and knocking them down for people.

We've played target men up front at times this season, yes it's sometimes frustrating when you see the hoofballs, but we also have the ability to play great, passing football and have a lot of technical ability in the team.

Spurs played Crouch up front with VDV has a support striker. They lumped balls up to crouch to knock down to VDV, but they also played good football at the same time.

We may resort to long balls, but I would never put us in the same category as ****ing Stoke or Blackburn.

yep, definitely. and i reckon £15m is a good price

forget his current form (coming back from injury, no decent run in the team, no service, and second choice to two in form strikers who both play a very different game - Suarez & Bellamy)

    1) i think he was pushed, he didnt jump

    2) we all know what he is capable of, given the right service.

    3) i think the humble pie of failing at Liverpoool will help him realise he needs to grow up fast & work harder if he wants to be a legend.

Are you guys crazy? 15mil for a player who has scored 4? goals in a year?
I would take him back for no more than 5mil, and on a wage no bigger than what he had when he left

I said no however I shall admit that for maybe 5 million I would take him back. I know he will never go for that little, but currently that it what I would value him at.

He's scored 4 goals because he's obviously not happy at Liverpool, and Liverpool just don't want to change their play to suit Carroll.

Carroll is a beast when used properly, by properly, I mean beefed up and used as a proper target man, not told to lose a stone of weight and asked to play the technical type of football Liverpool play.

We should get Carroll, get him back to his proper size, so the ****er actually has bulk on him like he did at the toon, and not like the lanky streak of piss he is at Liverpool.

He's probably no more than 11 1/2 stone right now, and that's not much for a 6ft 3 guy. We need to get him back on the weights, back to his proper style and up to around 13 stone like he probably was when he was here.

Or the club could not waste all of it's time and money on an out of form donkey who smacks his team mates. Our team isn't built for Carroll anymore, yes we play ''hoofball'' a lot of the time but the quality of balls going into the box is no where near at the level it was when he was here, our set pieces have been woeful fot the most part. Thats before we even get to wages. The pikey **** can **** off.

If we were going to spend 15 - 20 mill on him, i'd much prefer we went and bought Andriy Yarmolenko, Sebastian Rajalakso, Yaroslav Rakitskiy and Toby Alderweireld..

All 4? Also, are any of these names of footballers created by 5 Goals and his drunken autocorrect?

The guy was barely worth 15mil when we sold him, he hasn't shown any improvement, and is playing worse now. He isn't worth 15 million now, and would be a ridiculous gamble for the club to hope he regains the form he had for 6 months.

Carroll could still fit into our system. Pardew wouldn't have admitted he'd be interested in taking Carroll back if he thought Carroll would be a useless donkey like Shola. At the end of the day Carroll would be a good 2nd choice striker, better than Best and Shola. Mentality has a lot to do with it, and Carroll obviously is not happy at Liverpool, and as I've said before, people close to Liverpool have said he spends a lot of his time in Newcastle.

Carroll may be a bit of a bad boy off the pitch at times, but on the pitch, at Newcastle, he was very hard working and loved playing for us, he nearly always put everything into his performances for us. When he was playing for us he even had some technical ability. I remember him skinning a canny few players and playing some good passes. He's also made a few chances by crossing the ball. He seemed to work on a lot of aspects of his game whilst at the Toon.

I don't condone him punching Steven Taylor, but it is understandable. Saylor shouldn't have gone to try and shag the Ex-Girlfriend of a player, especially if the girl is the mother of Carroll's child.

I'd take him for 10 million, anymore and I'd go for someone better.

I'd personally love for us to sign Pappis Demba Cisse or Moussa Sow. However I don't see Ashley giving us a significant amount of cash to buy a quality player like that. He'll most likely tell Carr to find another cheap miracle.

    Toby Alderweireld - 7 million
    Sebastian Rajalakso - 800,000
    Andriy Yarmolenko - 9 million
    Yaroslav Rakitskiy - 5 million

    Young and reasonably cheap.

    <laugh> You'd think so.

Its a definite no from me, it would be embarrassing for all parties involved IMO.

Hes been found out at the top level and looks a shadow of the player he was, defenders know how to deal with him now after his first proper season in the premier league and I'd rather we spent out time and money looking for somebody different, another Carr bargain with huge potential, the guy is a "ticking timebomb" constantly going out and getting smashed, getting into fights and generally acting like a tosser. He will go the way of Joey Barton and end up in prison soon enough.

Every player we've brought in under Hughton/Pardew seem to be model professionals with a fantastic attitude towards the game and towards fellow team-mates and fans, Andy doesn't fit into this mold and would cause dressing room unrest IMO.

Leave the past in the past and look for a young hungry striker whether its overseas or here.

He is still young and an England International. For 15M we all know he is worth it. And although i'm still angry at the way he left if he banged in the goals, i'd forgive him. Also now he has left and wants to come back, he won't be in a hurry to leave again
