    An in form Stephen Ireland is better than an in form Joey Barton in my opinion, if he plays to 80% of his capability while he is here, I wouldn't mind him signing. I do think another loan for next season would suit us better.

    If he gets on with the playing and coaching staff, and looks good in training, i'd sign him up with no on pitch minutes (if only so we get him on the cheap). Realistically thougn i'd like to see him show his worth

    Maybe he actually is Vargas, and is subtly touting himself to the Geordie masses in hope of sealing a move to the illustrious Newcastle United ;)

    Ireland had one good season for city and the rest of the time he was useless,the reason he was left out of the side was he was believing his own hype and preening rather than put the effort in.If you can get the classy player of that 12 months back then in this Market he's a £20 million man but I'd be surprised if he ever showed it again,bit too much into his bling and tasteless crap he collects.When he was at villa he never moved to Birmingham but commuted from Cheshire which is hardly showing willing and I'd be surprised if hes moved up to Newcastle when he lives 100 yards from Rooney Towers
