I saw Zeitgiest too. Interesting stuff. What bloody annoys me is when people throw religion in my face and tell me that it's based on truth. The Bible isn't truth. It's stories, akin to the fables of Aesop, which give people's lives context with which to live by. I think Bill Hicks says it best. "Well apparently the world was created 6000 years ago by God in 7 days. But I got two words for these Christians: DINOSAUR BONES."
Hey on the bright side, this is likely to bring us all together in a way talking about football never could!
It is indeed, but as it's on General Chat as well (and there's been a fair bit of religious debate on there in recent days) I couldn't take anymore.
God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it? I just thought of that off the top of me head . Aren't I clever ?
