The only issue for me is wages. He's still young enough and I think he's a quality player at heart. If the wages situation can be sorted, it's a no brainer: a player on great form, dictating games is not a thing to turn your back on.

Your man is currently playing far better than at any time since he arrived at Rangers.

But, no brainer? What would your maximum salary offer be in a new contract? Personally I would offer him a new contract, but I would not pay a penny more than what have offered to Chery, Hall, Luongo etc.

There may be no truth in it, but I have read (can't remember where) that his agent has stated that they won't accept less than his current salary.

My answer to that would be a no brainer!

Pretty much spot on.
I believe JFH wont tolerate the lapses, and will be able to keep him motivated.
So it will all come down the money.

Judging by the fact that he still didn't get the MOTM vote from fans despite a match winning performance against Brentford in which he was clearly the stand out player it's pretty clear he's not well liked. That's understandable given how inconsistent his performances have been down the years but it may play a part in any decision on his future. Bear in mind that he is simply out of contract so there is no obligation to even consider a new deal. I think the Premier League proved a step too far for him and in our two recent visits and the best defenders in the world were normally able to intimidate and out-think him. But on the kind of form he's now showing he is clearly a star at Championship level and the danger is that he will be snapped up by one of our rivals for next season. On balance I would do everything possible to keep him on a new one year contract which would retain the incentive he now seems to have and allow both parties to rethink if circumstances change. The reality however, is that with such good recent publicity from everyone other than QPR fans we would need to break the wage cap to do so.
 
I think Junior has always given us something: unlike some "flair" players, he is hard-working and numerous opposition teams have gone into panic mode when he has run at them, ball at feet. Of course, before this season, his goal tally has been very modest and too many good runs end with a very poor cross. But, personally, I've always been glad to have him in the squad.

This season, he has stepped up a level, is looking even more dangerous and is scoring goals. I think it is being far too cynical to attribute this to his contract situation. If he can be accommodated within our new pay structure, I would definitely keep him. He is still only mid twenties and I think we will see more and more of the promise that he demonstrated early in his pre-QPR career.

Quite a good point from Clive on LFW. It certainly doesn't help that the Twitter gimps are on at Fernandes to give him a contract. Hopefully those who know what they're doing are in control and offer him one we can afford. If he signs or not, so be it.

I'd keep him, on decent wages, if he can remain motivated enough to play as he has for last few weeks, but if he reverts back to his standard "Row Z" antics, he'd have to be shipped out.
