Think Mr. Neville would be better for any team in the Premier than the Championship. He has no exprience of that level. I would certainly prefer him to any of the old out of work managers that are currently available. Of course, he may not be cut out for it but it may be worth a gamble. Though, my preference would aways be for Howe, Robinson etc. Should he start at a lower level? Not sure on this. He would certainly gain experience of how to manage on a low budget but would that help if appointed to a "big" club?
Yep. It's much better getting really old 'been there, done that, you can't teach me anything' managers in. Like Redknapp. Or is it?
Haha. You're a fiesty fella. That's not what I said, is it? I was talking about young manager's careers. I'd rather us go for a young manager who has had experience. I don't really want an untested, inexperienced manager, nor do I want a dinosaur like Redknapp. With that said, I still think Hoddle is a manager for the future and has a good track record.
A great point. The up and down isn't healthy. Building a vision for the club and hiring a management team who'll build it is what Southampton did. That includes staffing scouts, building academies and being very selective with signings and not just going with the guys that your manager used to work with and can get at a discount (which is still too much money). Would love to stay up, but if it means fielding the kind of rag-tag team we have vs. one that has more coherence and vision from top to bottom and waiting a couple seasons to get back , I'll take the latter.
Not sure I can put it better than the Neville interview and this: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footba...=#qpr&utm_content=#qpr&utm_source=twitterfeed I don't doubt the owners' intensions or their willingness to back the club financially. I do doubt their short-termism.
