I have around 5,000 vinyl LPs in my collection. But sadly, my kids don't want anything to do with them.
I have one too. I just skimmed the pages dead quick it was going between 99p and twenty quid. It's not really that rare Gambol it sold a lot of copies at the time as he died then. My original copy of Unknown Pleasures is about twenty quid. It's when you're selling a really big collection like the one THFC6061 mentioned that you would make a lot of cash. I've got all sort of old punk singles that are worth a bit. Rogue Leader would be proud of me.
It's about the rarest bit of vinyl I still own, and that's very little now. Dunno where it all went. Probably been "borrowed" by ****s. I had a pretty decent collection at one time. I had all issues (from the first) of the comic 2000AD which I read and collected till my mid 20's. Thousands of the ****ers. Gave them all to my nephew about 20 years ago. Gonny steal tham back aff the wee ****er.
CSome of Factorys records worth money, fabric sleeve of Still worth money.Early Buzzcocks and Pistols collectors items and worth money.I have a U2 12" only 1000 pressed all numbered by hand, one sold for $2000,it fluctuates so still get a grand for it
The first few issues of that are probably worth a bit of money now Gambol. One of my mates did the same as you, but his old dear threw them all out when he was away on holiday. He became kind of Judge Beel after that.

Yeah Mick some of the factory ones are pretty collectible I remember the fabric sleeve. Years back a guy who was going out with my girlfriends sister showed me all his singles. He was about ten years older than me and had lived in London in the mid 70's when the punk thing happened. He started buying five copies each of things that he reckoned were going to be worth money. He had all the Pistols stuff including five copies of the EMI anarchy, The spiral scratch EP, New Rose and all the other Damned stuff, The coloured vinyl of Marquee Moon, 999 and Clash singles, The PIL newspaper cover, The Stranglers free EP with Black and White. It was a pretty comprehensive collection and he had all these copies of each. That was in the early 90's and I always wondered if he ever sold them. He just said he was in the right place at the right time.
In the late 70s every single seemed to come out on "limited edition" multi coloured vinyl. By "limited edition" I think they meant limited to the first 2 million copies, most of which ended up in the remaindered bins. On another note, because sound is created by natural vibration, vinyl will always produce a better sound than digital. A roadie for Pink Floyd told me that in about 1988. I thought he was a daft old fossil and a Luddite at the time, turns out he was right.
