RVP is better striker than Suarez and has done it year in year out (save for injuries) and now at 2 different clubs; not just banged in a few this year in a team set up to have everything go through him. Torres, not at present but certainly was in his prime. Better strikers 'available' would include Falcao and Cavani. Suarez is not world class. You will probably keep him because there aint a chance in hell of Barca or Real going for him. They have much better players already. Barca also want Neymar and Real want Aguero / Falcao.
Agreed though he looks set for Bayern. Gomes might be surpless though, another player who could do a job for us and would probably cost a lot less than rat boy.
Hoping Suarez doesnt leave, but if he does I think he will go overseas. PSG, Juve, bayern, barca or Real. Certainly wont be going to Chelsea, as they have good players but lack some vital team qualities: 1, A manager 2, A plan that covers more than 5 minutes in the future. The arrogance of some chelsea fans thinking everyone wants to play for them. I doubt suarez had heard of Chelsea before he moved to Europe...lol
Arrogance? Charming coming from one of your lot! Utter bollocks that last paragraph. Big players have left you lot before, in fact one of your best in the last 20 years left for little old us. Players have the power to leave these days and if Suarez is offered CL football an double wages then I don't see him staying where he is.
Would you be interested? Course you would. Abramovich would never pass up the chance to sign a big name - he took Veron after he'd already flopped at Utd, took Shevchenko even when it effectively cost him Mourinho, and broke records to get a half fit Torres that Ancelotti didn't seem to want to play. But should you get him? Probably not - he would improve your team but not by much when you already have Hazard and Mata playing similar roles. The money could be much better spent on players you actually need, who wouldn't come with the ex LFC baggage.
Not the player we need and with Lafferpools debt increasing along with their wage bill I have little doubt that the owners will want to recoup some cash on him this summer. I don't think Barca will bid so it would limit his options to probably,Bayern or Real. Pepe would probably want him but would then have to move someone on.
Chelsea do not need Suarez or any other player currently in form. Chelsea need to play together. The talent already possessed is enough to win against anyone, what is lacking is the single group mentality backed by unshakable confidence. This comes from management and if even the world's best player decides to remain aloof by merit of the own talents then chuck him out.
Quite agree with dfer. Don't think we need to make many signings this summer except to tighten up the defence and a winger. Our squad is good now and with our brilliant loan prospects returning we should be ok, only downfall is our constant managerial changes.
It doesnt take a big money signing to change a team from 2nd or 3rd in the league to winners Javier Hernandez 2010 & Mario Mandzukic 2012 are two examples of that
No one is saying that he defintiely does. But we are European champions and been one of the top 5 clubs in Europe for the past decade, so yes, the best players are always interested in us.
We need at least 3 strikers to be competitive on 3 or 4 fronts throughout the season We have Demba Ba, we have Romelu Lukaku returning. We lost Sturridge for Ba and are set to lose Fernando Torres (hopefully) and by price alone he is our marquee forward despite not our most prolific. That means we need to sign a top quality striker. United had Rooney, Hernandez and Welbeck beginning of the season and still went out and signed Van Persie, and that move won them the league Most managers like having 3 top quality striker, we cant go through next year with just the two Signings this summer: CB (Hummels) LB (Shaw) CM (???) RW (???) ST (marquee signing) Definitely Out : Fernando Torres, Marko Marin and several out of contract players (hopefully not Frank but looking at you Yossi, Florent and Turnbull) The only thin that I do worry about is that there are rumours we are using Courtois and De Bruyne in deals for Falcao and Schurrle. To me not worth it would rather take on another striker and keep Courtois plus De Bruyne is a great versatile player.
Have to agree with Blue on that one, seldom does football throw up a totally abhorrent slime bag and he registers 9.9 on the Rio scale.
Really hope he stays. Liverpool are average with him anyway and don't want them getting a nice transfer kitty that they can't possibly **** up as badly as the Torres one!! I'd only buy Suarez if they promised to let Dalglish spend the money!!
'Savages like Suarez don't care. They just care about ££££' Just a point of order but what would savages do with money? Being savages I guess they have no economic laws apart from the big stick or sharpen spear. "Give um all money". "Ermmm why" " Cos it shiny!"
You guy`s definately do not need Suares, he would not add much to what you already have. I think when Lukaku comes back you will have a striker that could soon become another Drogba for you (big boots to fill but the lad has got it). If you were looking for a striker to give you something different then there is one in the premiership who i think would fit right in and is much better than he is given credit for, Edin Dzeco, he is wasted at City and could do a real job for you at a much lower cost than Cavani or Falcao.
