The other thing to consider is that maybe Wenger feels he no longer wants a DM in the side. If that's the case then I would suggest Sven Bender from Dortmund. He's a tall, powerful combatative box to box midfielder. He's like Diaby only German and without the injury issues) He can defend but is all rounder and great technically.
First team football , he's not yet a regular starter in the Dortmund side. (seems to come on as a sub most games). Quality young player (as is his brother) seems ready made for the EPL.
To answer the OP, is a player who appears to be about to join the team rooted to the bottom of the PL and likely to play in the Championship next year really showing the ambition of a player you want to sign? If hes happy with that hes not got the mentality Id want in a new signing, i.e. a winner..
Do you have a statement from M'Vila about wanting to play for QPR then? Latest reports suggest he's not keen on moving to them..
The only thing is that if he does do well for QPR then he will cost £20m+, it is a risk and if diaby was injury free then it wouldn't even enter my mind because m'villa won't play at the top if he doesn't change his attitude but he has the ability and sometimes players develop in terms of maturity at different rates.
As enough people have already said.If he's so good, how come only the bottom team in the PL have put a bid in for him ?
which is? Havent heard anything about Michu's temperament so it cant be that, Michu was unknown but not the other two (or MVila) so can't be that either.. And Tevez/Mascherano not overrated (Michu underrated) so not that.. do tell?
Michu was an unknown, he's done well, but he could have turned out to be crap and nobody would have batted an eyelid. If Arsenal had signed him and he'd been crap, all hell would'd have broken loose. Mascherano and Tevez went to West Ham so that Jia Koorabchian could then hawk them out to the big hitters and make himself a fortune in the process. Remember West Ham didn't own the players, the agent did. That was a simply a chess move to maximise personal profit.
tbh all depend on scouting and mangers suarez or RVP or Bale or even CR .. they were under big clubs radar, but only Liverpool and Arsenal, spurs and UTD gone for them respectively and look now how other big clubs came to regret it afterwords there is always an element of risk at every signing that put off managers or at least slow down their interest so why no one is going to M'vila now? well Liverpool were trying to solve their attacking department and have good players to play at M'vila's position.. City and Chelsea don't need one too.. Arsenal need many players at different positions during summer, especially in attacking or flankes... spurs have 2 good players who can play at that position.. this leave UTD .. who need a more creative CM than a CM/DM .. so is just logical that majority of big clubs are busy trying to sort out other positions
Yes. There is no ideal, top quality, affordable players out there right now. We need to take risks, and for that price, and considering the quality of play he's shown in the past, M'Villa is a steal.
If there isn't a top quality player available now, then I'm not convinced that buying someone for the sake of it would be as good an idea as getting the proper quaility in that position in the summer.
Hi guys, i think you're all correct. you should let him come to us for the rest of the season, then when we stay up we can take 25 mill off you because you didnt want to take a chance...Looking forward to it. Oh and just a thought, maybe he wants to come to QPR to be gauranteed a game every week and put himself in the shop window. Also should shine with what he's got around him and pick up a good wage Brief summary is: he cant possibly lose ! Good luck
I think M'villa is a risk worth taking. If you look at it from another angle it might be more of a risk not to buy him? 7million is nothing compared to what he was worth a season ago. I just want to add some players can instigate a move buy acting up and giving the impression they are a handful when all they want to do is move clubs. I have a sneaky suspicion that this is the case with Yann. (Flicks 2p into pot)
I see what youre saying, but I see M'Villa as a good buy and a good bet to realize his potential. By that I mean he's a player who will likely reach a level where he can challenge for a starting XI spot at Arsenal in the near future, and he is going for a bargain rate atm.
