Would laudrup go?

Have to mention that NJ's posts have been on the money today, as have Ivor's.

Laudrup probably wouldn't, but I dare say he feels massively let down by the players he selected. He knew it was a weakned side, but he didn't expect them to roll over and play dead.
 
i wish that was true norway but our history and other clubs history the same size as us tells us that managers move on if the deal with another club is to good to turn down, i remember very well fans saying Brendan would not go and he did and im afraid laudrup will do the same.....we dont own him and its just a job and nothing else and if he is offered something far better he will be like any other manager and go and wont look back. we are part of his CV for his future and he will want to do his utmost best for the reason of getting a big club...He is not here for the fun of it or he likes the scenery he is here because he wanted to try premiership football and we came along at the right time for his purpose....
 
I wouldn't put money on him not going, but he does have a seemingly higher level of integrity than his predecessors!..............<cheers>
 
why would he want to stay with us if any of the big clubs offer him a contract that would be so out of our reach what we could offer him......He looks a sensible man to me and not a lunatic..<laugh> no Brainer really...

Money is not everything, Dai, and ML has enough already I would have thought. I'm guessing that success as a manager is the main motivation for him and if he could get the degree of control that he has at Swansea at a bigger club then he may well go but that is a big if. I certainly don't see him at Chelsea under the present regime.

He is his own man and loves the freedom he has with us. He has been given sole responsibility for football matters and allowed to get on with it. Chelsea is the polar opposite and wouldn't interest him one iota.

As mad as it seems, Chelsea can attract some really good quality managers - they've never shaken off the shadow of Jose, but could easily attract Laudrup... they're the current European Champions.

Undoubtedly a quality set up but one that wouldn't interest Laudrup. After his bad experiences elsewhere there is just no way he would tolerate the interference of RA.

He has stated often that his interest as a manager lies in recruiting and training young players in his own methodology to go on and win things. It is why the League Cup final is so important to him. To win this with a smaller, relatively new club to the Premier League, in his very first season, would give him immense satisfaction. He has already said that he is very excited about next season bearing in mind the players that he has lined up to join us. He will have money to spend, will be allowed to choose his players and football matters will be down to him and NO ONE ELSE. I don't think that he will be going anywhere soon.

On the other hand, should we lose to Bradford, I'm sure that there will be a lot of soul-searching and introspection taking place.......
 
any big club could, money is only a small part of it, Man utd,chelsea,man city, real madrid and Barca are just a few who would attract any manager including laudrup. and dont be surprised if the top teams in denmark, Holland and germany would be of an interest to him......he is young and ambitious and has to be in the thinking of any of these clubs...
 
Hell guys, he's in his infancy with the Premiership! He's going no where, maybe after next season who knows, but I agree with Ivor, interfering board room sugar daddies are not something Laudrup takes kindly too!......................<ok>
 
Laudrup would not go to a top team unless its the right move for him and if they do come calling then of course he would be interested and if the club is in agreement with the way laudrup will want to manage then it will be bye bye and nobody can complain just like we could not complain when martinez and Brendan left. they all left us in a better shape than when they joined and thats all we can ask for...nobody was sacked because we were worse than when they took over....Its called progress and career advancement to better bigger clubs...I would be sad just like when other managers left us or players for that matter but i would do exactly the same if the opportunity arose...
 
I would hope that we can keep Mr Laudrup for at least another season, but football being what it is, who knows? Ivor I really do enjoy reading your posts, I do not post that often, but what a journey we are on lads and lasses.
