Very satisfied ty and shows we can fight our way back into a game when needed. As for the Dr bill send it to an Arsenal fan please.
I tell you what, we seem to be making a habit of scoring late into injury time, with practically the last kick of the game.
Which is always a good time to score.Actually West Brom have scored most of their goals in the first 15mins so it wasn't to much of a surprise today.
Yep, we keep scoring right at the end, which shows great fitness and also character to keep on going. It also reflects on our skill in possession, in that teams will try to harry and hustle us, but it's hard to do that for 90 mins +.
Well, our weakened team beat their strongest team at a ground we don't have a great record at so overall...good stuff. Must go,catch you later.
Well said TMT just lap it up. It won't last, so enjoy every brilliant minute of it Carpe Diem, not carp every day That's not aimed at you TMT BTW, just a reflection that some Spurs fans seem to have difficulty enjoying our wonderful team.
Our defending wasn't great, I think the wind may have played a part in that, but it can happen. Apart from King none of our back 5 including Friedel are rock solid, but fact is we only let one goal in. Since the window closed though and we've had Parker and Ade in to strengthen the team, we've only let in 8 goals in 10 Prem games so that's good if not outstanding.
GHoddle look, take a look at their goal,it was excellent and gave Brad no chance at all to stop it. That's the sort of goal I like. Now take a look at Ade's goals and compare them. Ade's were, well a touch what would you say, unconvincing. With both goals the keeper had a firm touch on the ball. Although the second was goalwards it was 50/50 as to whether it went in like the penalty. Now Defoe's,that's the sort of goal I like to see from us. If you think I'm being too perfectionist well ok then. Hope this explains me a little.
hi TMT, yes I think you are being too perfectionist. I love all our goals the scrappy ones and the beautiful ones. JD's yesterday was a beauty, brilliantly set up by that flick from Ade and JD's foraging clever run Lennon's run into the area for the pen came after a lovely interchange beween him and Ade. On Monday's Ade's overhead kick gave a top shot topper like Given no chance, and Bale's work to create the second was top-drawer. Lennon's goal v Fulham was an absolute beauty, practically every goal VDV scores is a work of art and almost all of them beauties - there was Walker's shot v Arsenal, Modric v Pool, I could go on ....
Agreed there was a touch of luck and good fortune for both Ade's goals, but as they old saying goes once its in it doesn't matter how, because it will be printed in tomorrows papers or websites.
As you imply PL who cares? Bale just missed with of his typical curling shots that went just the wrong side of the post, the keeper was completely beaten. On another day that shot goes in. Defoe put another shot between the goalies legs but it found a defender rather than Ade who was on hand for a tap in. I simply find it unbelievable how some Spurs fans want the kind of perfection that simply does not exist, certainly not for us in the Prem era. I find it bizarre to say the least. In 1981 we heading out of the FA Cup when a Hoddle free kick was deflected in by Hutchinson, after he'd scored a lovely clean header. We won the replay in one of the greatest finals with one of the greatest goals, who cared then that we got a bit of (deserved) luck in the first game? Not me. We won yesterday because we deserved to, we were the better team over 90 mins. We created more chances than WBA and took more of them. Early on in the game Foster spilled a routine shot from Sandro that on another day would have trickled in, it didn't and they scored soon after. We then came back at them to great effect and that's football.
Luck favours those who are there to make the most of it. Also, the old footy saying that one makes ones own luck applies to both Ade goals, too.
