FT 1-1. We shouldn't get too downhearted, 4 wins in a row would have been a hell of a lot to ask. Look forward to hearing from those who were there.
Yes, you're right Captain, but a thumping win today would have set us blasting down the road to The Den - calls for a hell of a performance on Tuesday night.
Scrappy game. You felt this kind of dodgyish result coming. I don't know if the red or the pen were right or not, but the ref was well positioned for both. Frimpong very good until pulling up lame after ashot. Fuller was excellent, however could've maybe done better with at least one of his chances. Hamer made a poor attempt/ decision that lead to their pen, otherwise solid enough. Back 4 excellent Pritchard and solly worked very well together, Pritch delivering some great balls. Kermo came on and looked close to his old self, very good news for the near future! Disappointed, but would've taken the point before kick off.
Gutted however looking forward to peterborough first game i will of been to in a while still think we will win that by more than two goals
Totally controlled the second half kept the ball without really threatening Fuller shot when should of passed to hulse would of been 2 0 small margins and all that. Sending off very harsh for me bit of a sickener to concede pen at the end but not too down hearted. Frimpongs is quality head and shoulders above this level. Pritchard did well the team did ok without really looking top notch except in glimpses a couple of sweeping moves but that was it. Yan got a great reception when warming on and when he came on. Beat Peterborough tues and it'll be a good 5 games points return
Just back. And still in shock that Green came on. Thanks for the virtual smelling salts. Much appreciated. Very frustrating. Two points thrown away. Should have sown the game up after going in front. Quality of crossing was appalling save for one from Frimpong and a few from Danny when he came on. Like Eddie I would have had green on at half time for Pritch who played well but couldn't afford to make a tackle. Sending off looked a little harsh to me. Thought the ref gave us a lot. Penalty evened that up. Frimpong looked a class apart until he went off. Also the best I've send rom Fuller although he got too greedy on a couple of occasions and probably cost us. Hulse was abysmal. I could have scored his goal and he simply can't head the ball. Missed one sitter completely and put a clear header straight at the keeper towards the end. Solly immense and great to see Yann back. Didn't look anything like a 20k crowd to me. Huddersfield certainly no better than us although they could have been two up early on. We looked solid until Frimpong went off. But lacked real width. You know where I'm going with this. Green must feel like a leper. Took 10 mins for anyone to pass to him. Nearly set up two goals. He needs to start. I suspected we wouldn't get more than a point today but we really should have taken three. Hope Haynes and Frimpong fit for Tuesday. Hope not to see Hulse in a Charlton shirt again.
Agree with Mike except that there was also a shot Fuller selfishly took in the first half when a pass to Hulse would have meant a goal, so mixed feelings about Fuller. Losing Haynes and Seaborne was a blow so a draw's not too bad.
Despite the fact he scored with his head against Cardiff? And set up Haynes at Burnley last week? To score, you still need to be in the right place. I haven't seen him play, so I'm not in a great position to judge, but I think you're being a bit harsh. He's led the forward line well during Yann and Fuller's absence, yes he should have scored a couple more but he's done a reasonable job in my book. And CP said last week how he's taken to Charlton as if it's his club, not like he's just on loan, which is a refreshing change after some of the loanees we've had over the years.
Very harsh on hulse and the header at the end was a good save rather than a bad miss I thought he had a decent game. Green when he starts has been poor so much better on the bench for me. Pritchard cross for the goal was excellent.
I haven't seen him play, so I'm not in a great position to judge, but I think you're being a bit harsh. Err, I've now seen him five times and trust me, I'm not. I've given him the benefit if the doubt after he looked better against Cardiff but today he was truly awful. I can't remember a header he won. He jumped too early for every ball. First touch was crap and he looks as though he was hiding. Apart from that as they say, he was ok!!! God forbid we actually sign the guy. Then again, I know nothing about football as I'm often reminded.
I still think it's harsh to say you never want to see him in a Charlton shirt again, when he's contributed 2 goals and an assist in his short time with us. Play the victim card if you want, I thought we were discussing as equals
Play the victim card if you want, I thought we were discussing as equals You wot? I wasn't aware I was playing a victim card. An attempt at some ironic humour which clearly missed the mark.
i thought we looked flat today. as soon as we went 1 up, we didnt go forward at all. we had no urgency. but then, that may have been because we had no left back overlapping on the left and pritchard as our right winger instead of haynes. injuries are wrecking this season. we should be at least 5 positions higher. hulse looked ok to me. makes chances, takes one now and then.
