He can't trap a ball, can't run the wings, can't pass, can't play without pissing of his team mates, misses open goals, worse than crouch at heading, makes **** runs and has a face you just wanna punch...
He played quite well in the Euros up top on his own. I'm not saying he should be anything other than backup but he's better suited to the role than Defoe and we need 2 new strikers for this season.
But we are still trying for Ade, and they don't get on. Plus im sure one of his 3 stipulations will be first team football.
i doubt anyone wants Bendtner over Ade. My "yes" to Bendtner was purely on the fact that at the moment we have NOBODY that fits the system. If we are confident of Ade then Bendtner should be a no, but only people inside the club know how likely that signing is. I still like Hooper of Celtic too.
How have you gone from boasting arguably the leagues best attacking options (Bar United) 5 years ago to now even considering Bendtner?
There are loads of strikers who are beter than what we have, and that has annoyed me for years. Look at Ba, free, or Ademwengue (sp) playing for WBA - pretty much every team has a player of higher calibre than defoe, especially when you take our new set up into consideration.
Players like Berba don't come around often, and that partnership with Keane was one of the best, but even back then Defoe chipped in with decent amount of goals, he has always been a top player for us. The reason we're in this situation is because we don't go out and sign proven established strikers, unless we can get them on the cheap, we look to find the next big thing or go for "potential" and the big mistake with the berba situation was selling him so late and being desperate enough to spend 14 million on pav.
Didn't think about those two not getting on. As for expecting first team football, he'd get some and I don't think he's in a position to demand anything. It's all a hypothetical anyway and I'd be happy if we signed him as long as he didn't cost much and wasn't our first choice.
Fair enough but you can do much better than Bendtner IMO. I don't think he's the type of striker or personality AVB would want
Maybe we should hope for a RvP move to Utd. We should be able to sign Hernandez on a loan then at least shouldn't we? As well as the hopeful signings of Adebayor and Damiao, as unlikely as they're now looking, we should be left with the traditionally strong Tottenham forward line.
I know we can do much better but this is how the club operates, they put us in these situations and then all of a sudden on deadline day we will sign someone, leaving us unprepared and behind all our rivals.

Which is £8m to much! I don't particularly want him either but he'd offer much more than bendtner in my opinion. Trouble is clubs know how desperate we are now and will increase their values accordingly!
Maybe this is why AVB keeps saying we only need 1 striker and that defoe and kane are fine. He's trying to convince everyone we aren't desperate. Genius!
