Ryan Williams was a waste of space . Holt wasn't as bad as the Williams signing though I could see why they signed him he was good at Chesterfield
Bullard clear number 1 for me, not all his fault but the combination of factors and sheer expense in the championship whilst we were broke for someone who didn't play and just went out on piss was horrific. Sinik is definitely up there, his cost per minute played must be one of the highest ever for a city player. Olofinjana was another turd of a perm signing
Another nomination is Delroy Facey. With the stuff that's come out since you have to wonder if he affected our games on wats he shouldn't have
Altidore was only a loan, but he was poor. Same as Marcus Maddison. Permanent signings: Sonko, Halmosi, Tony Warner, Celi, and Giles.
I think halmosi gets a pass And the one who sanctioned the transfer should get the blame He was nowhere even close good enough for the premier league Which is why he spent rest of his career in hungary
Yea He hadnt even had a top career before either Scored some good goals in that one season for plymouth
Best own goal ever was the diving header by Sandy Brown for Liverpool when he played for Everton...followed by that one by the bloke playing for York (I think) Chris summat-or-other, who nearly kicked himself in the head when booting it into his own net.
True. He was a bit $hit, but scored some key goals e.g. Luton at home in the 3-0, the equaliser v MK Dongers played on a snow covered pitch and in a Baltic like temperature. Junior Lewis always looked as if he didn't know left from right and always put his boots on the wrong way round.
I've always been alone in this since the BBC 606 days but I always thought Anthony Gardner was so much worse than people acknowledged. For the reputation he came with (former England international and Tottenham first-teamer) and the fee we paid which was significant for a defender at the time, he was a pathetic defender. Big tall guy but totally bullied by everyone, when he did actually play. He was with us through that brilliant 2008-09 season but not involved in any of the good bits. Was more involved the following season due to Turner going and he was badly exposed. I remember Jermaine Defoe winning every header against him in a 2009-10 home hammering. Disappeared into obscurity as soon as we were relegated and he wasn't very old. I suspect he must've been badly affected by injuries before joining us and was basically shot by the time he joined.
I think the only reason we got him was due to him being 'shot' - in his prime he was absolute quality, we got a pale shadow of that player.
in more than 20 year of live suffering at bp and the kc, the player i disliked most was richard sneekes. in fact, there weren't many i disliked, but i really detested him. my attitude was always that if a player wasnt very good, i could forgive him if he tried hard. on this basis, i would have huge differences with many about, for example, mike edwards and garry parker.
Are we talking about the worst player or the worst player at the time we signed them? I watched some absolute dog ****, growing up, in the bottom two divisions. In fact some of those terrible terrible footballers are my childhood hero's
