Against Sunderland, he worked his socks off defensively, especially when down to ten. He not only ran the ball past several players on numerous occasions when we were under the cosh, he also tracked back well. Tonight, he did a bit, but it didn't look like he was supposed to in Pardew's tactic. Anita was covering with Simmo most of the time <ok>

Maybe the worst was a bit strong then, but my opinion has been contested by claims that he's the best! Surely not?!

I still put him in the pile with Tiote and Jonas who haven't been their best up to now

    Best defender - Santon

Best Midfielder - Ben Arfa mayeb Cabaye if he wasn't missing half the games so far

    Best Striker - Ba

Well, considering most of our points seem to have come off his back, it's probably fair to say he's been better than most, whether or not you think he can play better <ok>

Between him and Ba, not much else has been going on attacking wise really. If you're looking at targets for frustration, whether statistically or emotionally, Ben Arfa cannot be one of them. Fair enough if you want more from him, but objectively, he's not the weakest link in the team.

I'm going to say Pardew has been our worst player because our tactics dont suit anyone in the team right now.

I'm sure he'll address it though.

You're right, he's far from the weakest link in the team..you're also right - I want more from him. I want more from them all...but don't we all..

I want more from Shola certainly... But he assures me he's straight <ok>

We all want better performances, of course, and I think we all forgive post-match outbursts, so no worries. Realistically, today's game was a hard one for us and we've got a point, so we can save the performance for another day, preferably at home when I'm not watching a ****ty link!

Whilst I agree, we've been saying the above after pretty much every game this season. Not in one league game this season have we dominated a game and been clear and deserved winner's. It's worrying to say the least. Why am I so down/concerned after a point at Anfield <steam>

The only games I've been massively disappointed in were the Villa home, Norwich home game, and Reading away games, and we got 5 points out of that lot.
We've played Spurs (H), West Brom (H) (our bogey side and up there this year), Chelsea (A), Sunderland (A), Man Utd (H), Everton (A) (started well, great side), Liverpool (A). They are big games, yet we've taken 9 points. Last season we took 10 pts off those fixtures, so we aren't doing badly at all! Performances will come I tells ya!

Obviously, but in the end, the comet/aliens/dolphins/badgers will destroy us all, so who cares if we have to watch **** football?

I think most of our players need to have a good look at themselves so far this season. I would say Krul and Ba are the only two who have consistently turned up (Colo has been good in the handful of games he's played, though today his sending off was idiocy). If i had to single out a player it would probably be Anita - I've seen very little to suggest he was a good buy, but he;s still settling in so i wouldn't be too harsh on him.

IMO Anita is looking better with every game he plays, and hopefully he'll get a chance to show us what he can do over the next few games

jesus we have no choice but If I'm honest I'm more concerned with our play than who's playing right now.
