OK, all but a game to go and the positions pretty much finalised. Who do you think has been the worst performing team or manager of the season based on players and money spent? I know the relegation teams are an obvious target, but they have spent a pittence in real terms and probably didn't stand much of a chance!

I have gone for the following;

1st: Liverpool - Mega money spent even with the sale of Torres. They must wonder why they got rid of Hodgson!
2nd: Stoke - 22+ Million spent in the summer (in addition to the 60 odd we spent previously) of which half was invested in 2 players who never really featured! Without our Euro campaign (which was wasted due to poor tactics for our final games), the press and fans would have been hounding TP.
3rd: Villa - No new money spent since the purchase of Bent, but have actually spent less than they have made from sales. Still no excuse for being in a relegation battle!
4th: QPR - Wrongful sacking of Warnock put them into turmoil, big wages spent on big egos who have failed to deliver!

Liverpool for me too, just on the amount they've spent. And next, in no real order, are us, for the same reason, and QPR, for the same reason Smithers stated, and also Blackburn, not so much the managers fault, but the chairman/ board for sacking Fat Sam, I also do think the fans helped by jumping on Kean's back so early

I would say Liverpool, us, Villa and probably Blackburn <ok> Chelsea would be a contender if it wasn't for their late revitalising cup runs, even if that isn't PL

As a club Wolves for me.. WHY sack a Manager mid seaosn? I think they do actually play some very good football, just their defence is woeful.

Worst Manager have to say Kenny D to think they are only a handful of pts above Stoke, an awful season given the quality they have, we Stoke do not are not on the same level squad wise.

QPR? should not have sacked Warnock IMO but I think they will stay up now. IF we lose to Bolton (GOD FORBID) we don't lose they really could not complain too much but have done fantastically well had a very tough run in, but should not have been down there, given the money they have spent.

McCleish at Villa for me as they had a reasonable side anyway before he took the reigns and he has taken them close to relegation. The other managers like Dalglish and Pulis have just squandered millions but kept their sides up and had decent cup runs.
