I hitch hiked up to Newcastle one boxing day, really badly hungover, without a ticket. Threw up on the A1 after taking a swig out of a warm can of some lager or other, got a lift, got a ticket, watched a **** game that we lost one nil to a Glen Roeder header, then hitched back.

What the **** am I talking about, that was actually a ****ing great day out? (some chubby looking **** called Gascoigne was playing)

Biggest actual disappointment was the 92 season fizzling out to **** all, as a long suffering ST holder, as Leeds pipped us to the league.

We made up for that the following season though.

    And the one after that.........

As an England fan it was Stuart Pearce's penalty for me. Keeper saved that I I just put my hands over my face and topple over face first on to the floor.

As a hammer, so many to choose from, but the one that hurt the most was Redknapp getting sacked. That was the end of 'the dream', he'd built a great side, and had Carrick, Cole & Defoe on the cusp, with Lampard just started to do what he carried on doing for another 13years at Chelsea. Always be 'what could've been' except for the **** that was our chairman.

Worst moment has a fan was watching some nob heads go mental after a Cup defeat at home to Dover. Made the local media headlines for all the wrong reasons after, if it hadn't of been for the company I was in at the time, I would probably have told them to STFU, but I know it would defo of kicked off, and it weren't worth the hassle.

Probably not comparable with experiences that lifelong fans have had but the first season we went to watch Woking they ended up getting relegated. Odd experience for a Man United fan. I must’ve done 15-20 games that year. I was genuinely gutted when they went down, particularly as with seconds to go of the season, a goal would’ve completed a miracle last day escape. I admit that I wasn’t 100% certain about committing to a season in the National South but we did and promotion was an incredible buzz. The play off semi final comeback was a ridiculously brilliant mosh pit of whatthefuckjusthappened?

Bolton, Chelsea and Sheff Utd all doing us by 6, Newcastle doing us by 7...but the absolute pits was being 3 up at ht and 10 Man City scoring 4 in the 2nd half...and City were dog **** back then

Thanks for reminding me. I'll add Baggio missing that penalty vs Brazil in '94 but more importantly FIFA giving S Korea a free ride to the 2002 WC semis (shocking refereeing decisions against Italy and Spain). My love for the game died right there.

Two injury time goals during Saints 84 FA Cup run; Steve Moran's for us against the fish ****ers was a moment of sheer joy, but I was later convinced that I was not leaving Pikey Island alive that day.

And it all came to a tragic end at Highbury in the semi when Adrian Heath scored for Everton with virtually the last kick of the game. Absolute sickener, especially as we beat then comfortably, home and away in the league that season.
