As one of the lads brought up Woodgate's latest injury setback earlier, it got me thinking...Is his the most unfortunate careers to date or are there others out there whose potential was squandered/never materialised?

Can we, between us, make the ultimate 'on paper' team?

..............Kirkland
Bosingwa...Woodgate..King.......Gibbs
Best....Gascoigne.....Hargreaves...Anderton
.............Owen......Ashton..........

Bench: Saha, Dyer, Bojinov, Viduka, Kewell, Smith.

Nah any player, any league, any era...

Surely Gazza? A little before my time (born in 88) but read plenty about him, especially in Sir Bobby's biographies...Said to be, on his day, arguably the best player in the world...

the original sick note darren anderton

would have said David McCreery but no matter what injury he had he always played always seemed to have to pass a last minute fitness test to play every week also if he played like that injured i'd loved to have seen him fit he was outstanding for us.

That striker at Man City who was injured for something like 7 months, finally came back, then got ligament damage in the warm-up.
