Please please please post this on the Skunks board, i will tag along and enjoy the fun with you as that is a serious bit of wumming.
Not to worry lads, back when i was a kid and couldnt go to sunderland away games, me and my mates use to just pull a bit of fence up round the back of the town end at pools (im sure we probs still could). Also why has no one mentioned 'Big Gaz Hall' as one of the worst players.
Well yes if we have Gyan and a couple more injuries happen we could find it difficult, but unless we could bring in a reasonable player for a reasonable price, it is hard to see what Sb and Quinny could do. Bent was , not on strike, but nor was he playing at full potential and it was obvious he had been 'tapped-up' for a while without leting SB know. SO we had no player lined up. We would be very unlucky to get relegated from 37 points as we are bound to add a few more, Welbeck and Campbell will be back before the end of the season and we will get another forward in the summer, the hunt is on I am sure. So as disasters go, it is not as bad as some mentioned above..it is not ideal but we will overcome......
The worst decision in the club's history. It could be the fact that we stopped short of giving Newport County the extra 5 grand (yes that's right; 5 bloody grand!) that they wanted for John Aldridge. He was keen to be reunited with Len Ashurst our manager at the time and Tom Cowie wouldn't spend the extra 5 grand to get him in. By the time Lenny had talked Cowie round Aldridge had panicked and signed for Oxford Utd instead. What was Aldridge worth in his subsequent transfer to Liverpool? It would probably have changed our history if we'd had a bloke like him for a couple of seasons back then. Absolutely shocking. This came straight from Lenny himself at a talk in one night.
We'll be fine lads, we're building. If we don't finish in the European places this year it will be next year, or the year after. I can wait, I hope everyone else is as patient as it takes time to build something that will last.
