Rushden away - miles from anywhere well beaten
Darlo away at Feethams lost 4-1 I think Gabbiadini did us again
Notts County 5-0 bad game , tough time at the station with Forest fans !
Grimsby away when they were on the up

5-2 wasn't it? Policing and stewarding was an utter disgrace that day inside and outside the ground, on a par with Barnsley the same season, and it was ****ing freezing. Never been back since

If we're thinking of the same match, I'm sure it was a 1-4 reverse but I could be going scenile.

The policing after was ridiculously heavy-handed though. We were walking out of the ground with my Uncle in his 70s and my Dad in his 60s whilst having a friendly chat with a couple of Bolton fans - so that clearly made us look like trouble-makers..... Missed our train back because the police then forced us to the wrong platform at the station to wait for the 'Hull train'. Even though I was explaining I lived locally in the Manchester region we were not allowed to get on the first train amongst the Bolton fans despite there being absolutely zero problems from any fans of either team at all.

I do remember Barnsley away around about that time where we played atrociously, lost 1-0, missed a penalty and suffered from overcrowding and dreadful stewarding. Might have been the season before though.

Saw a (admittedly worse for wear, but that's no excuse) City fan get pushed over by either the police or stewards and dragged up the steps at that Bolton game. Just a horrible experience all round. Before the days when everything got filmed on phones for social media unfortunately

I went to Notts County for that game - all I remember was smoke bombs both on the terraces and on the train on the way back and Killer Queen blasting out before the match - the match was crap

Thanks a lot. I'd managed to forget about Rushden away, that'll bring back the PTSD.

Waggy didn’t play he was almost done by then , Hawley did and as I reported before had one shot about the height of a Jimmy McGill special - well over the bar - think we were 3 or 4 down at half time . We got off the train at Brough as we didn’t want to meet the coppers who might be waiting in station .
