Dave Carver played over 200 games for City. brilliant full back IMO.

Back line was Carver, Murray, Harris, Bell.

Takes me back to my youth.

DJR - I thought the same as you. Nothing wrong with Carver and that defence. Who replaced Harris? Was it Leighton Phillips?

It seems like yesterday and yes that was a good defence. One of the best we have had.

Not 100% we had a few after Harris I think Phillips played mid-field eary on, there was that Irish bloke (Can't remember his name at the mo) he got undone when we played Everton DM made him look awful.

    Albert Larmour?

I think there was someone else as well. Leighton Phillips started in midfield but he then moved to centre back.

From Wiki, "Phillips was used in positions all over the pitch, including playing as a striker and midfielder, before settling in defence as a sweeper, taking over the role following the departure of Brian Harris".

Steve Derrett was the one I couldn't remember.

I'm pretty sure I played against him in the Cardiff and District League in the mid '80's.

I was working with Paul Sugrue's daughter in the middle of last year.

As for Went, it was late 70s when he joined DJ. No messing when him and Joe Dwyer were together at the back.

I believe that Paul Sugrue is the new landlord of the Ninian Park pub.

without a doubt it was Mel Charles, John Charles' brother.
I saw this man stand on the pitch and take a comb out of his pocket and comb his hair in the middle of a match whilst the oppostion was attacking, because he was on the wing and defending wasn't his job.
and he didn't do it just once either!!!!!
