I'm not entirely sure how you think that you can know that I wasn't being ironic. Only I can know what I meant. Anyway, don't just take my word for it, those with a bit of nouse understood it quite clearly.

Seems that you are having a bit of trouble grasping the concept.

This was nowhere near our worst performace.

The united game was considerably poorer. wigan played very well and we were just a little flat.

I would'nt even say it was a bad performance, just not quite good enough.

 

I think this was our worst performance - not based on the actual play, but on a combination of the play and the circumstance. Against Utd we were thread bare and expected to lose, it was early in the season, and only a limited amount of pressure on. The game against Wigan was vital and the team folded. The lack of concentration and stupid errors, coupled with the failure to be decisive anywhere near Wigans penalty area, showed a lack of bottle.

It was awful.
