I like Taylor he has served us well until his unfortunate injury and that put us in a bit of a spot as all we had was this spotty kid still learning his trade, But this spotty kid was special and he really took his chance that came a couple of seasons early and boy did he take it. Now the problem i have is i want to keep both Taylor and Davies as good LB are like gold dust in the football world and should we accept a straight swap Davies for siggy then spurs will have the far better deal and we would lose a young LB who quite frankly has not reached his full potential yet.....If the inevitable does happen then we must install a sell on clause on Davies because if he does get better which i think he will then as a LB he could be worth a hell of a lot more when spurs will be forced to sell him on to one of the really big clubs in the future.

If. As it seems likely that we will lose Bony and Davies shortly, then replacements need to be uppermost in the minds of Huw and Monk. They will have to work tirelessly and more importantly splash the cash to bring in adequate replacements. My concern is that Monk doesn't seem to have the pulling power needed. Everton today signer Besic who apparently was a done deal for us but he rejected us now it seems that equadors Montero has also decided against joining Swansea. Fortunately we have brought in Gomis this is a huge positive but a lot more needs to be done in the coming weeks, I only hope Monk has what's needed to complete this task. I have my doubts.

Well Sbubs if that is the case maybe we will have to resign ourselves to trying to find cheap gems yet again. i think nearly all on here knew that there would be an issue with a totally unheard of novice manager atrracting big named signings would be a problem and so from what you say it has come true. I do worry that we will now move back to the bargain basement because that is all we can attract. please don't quote Gomis because we signed him because we paid him more than anyone else and nothing to d with it being Swansea or GM.

agreed on the. replacements.
But we will also need a player or two who will provide a supply of space and chances.
Routledge is decent but Dyer (who I rate) seemed to be out of favour at the end of last season. Emnes on the wing isn't quick enough but can create space when playing number 10. Pablo, Pozuello and Michu seem to be goners.
So we have three positions (striker and 2 midfield wingers) filled by 3 players.
Does Gomis defend as well as Bony?

Never lefty .. how many times did you see Bony play before he came ? If we cant trust Gomis to replace Bony if Bony leaves , with Gomis making a higher wage than Bony , Im afraid we got bigger problems off the pitch than on it .

Everton have made a bid to rival Swansea and West Ham for Muhamed Besic of Ferencvaros.

Manager Roberto Martinez has offered £2.5m plus add ons for the 21-year-old Bosnian midfielder who impressed at the World Cup.

Swansea have made an offer totalling £4m while West Ham are monitoring developments.

Everton have nipped in and successfully done the deal to win the race from under the noses of swansea and west ham.

Sorry lefty , thought you were talking Gomis ... Tremmell played very well for us and Fab was a top teamkeeper .This are just opinions, what else can theybe .

he played 58 times for Spurs that is hardly not being given a chance. They see him as not good enough for them. So why is he good enough for us. i dont see their midfield options being so spectacular. what they have is no better than what we have. So why if not good enough for them is he good enough for us. I do concede that sometimes players do suit some clubs.

He actually played 85 times for Spurs. He averaged 60 minutes per game. I dont see that as a benchwarmer seeing as he is being replaced after 60% of the match (if it was the opposite then fair enough) I also dont see that as them not thinking he is good enough. To be fair even if he isnt good enough for them it doesnt mean he isnt good enough for us either

Agree. Gylfi did okay at Spurs and would add real quality to our AM options.

But roof, I never said tht Bony was as good as anyone. You have said that Fab is as good as Vorm. Yet you have never seen him play. Dont know how you can make that comparison. By the way I dont think Gomis will score as often as Bony does his record shows 1 in abou 3.

The bookmakers have slashed the odds on Wilfried Bony joining Liverpool from 6/1 to odds on 5/6. Here Brenda comes again.

That's more or less 50-50, so just as much chance of him not going to Liverpool. Bookies probably heard something and slashed the odds just to cover themselves. I bet they wouldn't offer similar odds on him not joining Liverpool. And easy way that bookies fleece naive punters.

gylfi has had plenty of game time for spurs but he has been disappointing in the goals assist department according to spurs. he has not had one assist all season and that is not good enough for us as we need those assists to survive. He is not worth swapping for ben in a million years.

Just looked up this better and they have odds on what team he'll be playing for after transfer window closes. They don't have odds for Swansea, which implies that they don't want people betting that he'll still be at Swansea. They just want to take money for something that may not even happen. Also, showing odds for Swansea would show how unattractive the other odds offered were. They have a huge mark-up on this market, as they do on many of these pre-season football markets.

Ive seen Fab play on the tube lefty , Tremmell is ok also . Vorm is a bit better imo , but not as much as the money on the transfer out justifies . Not going to say anymore , I know and respect how you feel about Vorm , you know how much I like money lol. Same scenario as Davies and Taylor .. both good , but lot more money offered for one ... somebody has to go .

There's a school of thought says providing a club can pay its outgoings and set money aside for development they should break even, not make piles of money. I tend to agree with that. I've said it before and I'll say it again - players win you matches not cash in the bank.

Interesting report on mirror on line that Liverpool have been told that Bony not for sale at £19million, will take bigger offer. As a result Liverpool may now look elsewhere. Let's hope its true. Bony due in US to join squad on Wednesday, if he's there it may be a clue to whether or not he's leaving.

There will be reports up the ying yang but when the dust settles , we will have made 10 million imo . The boards activity on the striker market already almost says so too .
