Taylor played first team before Davies in the Premier bap666 , Vorm hardly played last season with Tremmell standing in very well , throw in Fab and I think we're stable without Vorm. As for Bony , for the money Huw is paying Gomis , Gomis better be a reasonable facsimile of Bony .

I know that Roof not debating Taylor or Fabianski thats why I only highlighted Gomis and Emnes in your original post neither of which have proven as yet to be at the same level as Bony.<ok>

Running a football club isn't about "making big money" by selling your best players if you're solvent. It's about playing entertaining football and winning matches to maintain your status. I have no problem with Bony going to a top four side as he's earned that chance but anything else and we should dig our heels in and hold him to his contract.

As for Sigurdsson, those of us who have watched the Swans for long enough recognise that there are certain players who just 'fit' with us and perform better than they would elsewhere. I don't put Bony in that bracket but Siggy I certainly do. Because of the way we play and the position he's likely to play he'd be a huge asset imo. £10M is over-egging it but around £6M sounds right.

I like Siggy, but let me ask you a question. He came here in our first season of promotion. We didnt have the quality of players we have now in central midfield. Could it be he looked a good player because he was better than what we had then. So whilst he was an improvement on our team then, would he be now, I think he would struggle to find a regular starting place now, If we dont lose anyone.

Taylor is no where near as good as Ben, neither do i think Flappianski or Tremmel are as good as Vorm. I gree he didnt have the best season last year. But I still believe way ahead of the other 2. With Lloris signing a new 5 year deal at Spurs can see vorm staying.

Roof as for Gomis. his goal scoring record comes no where near to Bony and that is in a poor French league.

When he was with us Dai. His contribution in the second half of the season really helped push us to safety. I'd agree with a $6-7 price tag. Certainly would tell Spurs to shove it if they expect Vorm and Taylor as a Siggy swap.

Go back to that time and look at the last 5 games. He did nothing. He has a pattern with every club he has been at and that is to score a few early goals and dry up. other clubs got rid and now spurs want to off load him.....he is a championship player at best and a bench warmer in the premiership. He would be a waste of money if we pay the asking price or if we swap Ben for him....

Quite - we also had Rogers playing the ball on the ground and often through the midfield to the attacking players which is a long way from the way we played at the end of last season.
If JdG isn't coming back, or is priced out, I'd probably go for Sigurdsson if he could be got for £5 - 6 Million. I don't think either, nor Ki, fill that central midfield roll particularly well and Jonjo was more effective partnering Leon.
I'm also not keen on players coming back after choosing other teams.

The way Taylor played when he was in the team last season shows he's no where close to the quality of Ben Davies and probably not up to Premier League standard any more.

Refusing players who have chosen other teams is the way fans think - but management shouldn't. If they did Leon wouldn't be here.

As for "Could it be he looked a good player because he was better than what we had then" Don't think so. He looked a good player because he was and is. Able to run with the ball, beat a man, cross the ball and take excellent free kicks. That ability doesn't disappear overnight imo. A shadow of his former self at Spurs because he wasn't given a regular run and played out of position at times. If that sounds familiar it is - I've lost count of players who've played well here then been average elsewhere. For all our failings we do tend to get the best out of whoever plays here.

For the right price it's a no brainer for me, particularly as I have a feeling JDG is off back to his parent club.

You're also being a tad unfair to Taylor imo. Hardly got a kick having come back from a bad injury now all of a sudden he's not up to the Prem? Don't buy that.

I too found that a strange comment given plenty on here were calling for Neil to play instead of Ben towards the end of the season.

he played 58 times for Spurs that is hardly not being given a chance. They see him as not good enough for them. So why is he good enough for us. i dont see their midfield options being so spectacular. what they have is no better than what we have. So why if not good enough for them is he good enough for us. I do concede that sometimes players do suit some clubs.

There's some rubbish being stated on this thread regarding Taylor and Siggy! Taylor is a great Premier League LB that has sat on the bench most of last season, and only needs a run of form to get back to his best, he is a better defender than Davies. Regarding Siggy he is quality, and he is a natural fit for our game, anyone that thinks anything else doesn't have a clue how we play.

Bony was unproven if you call the Dutch league the same as the french league but Bony fared well in his first Premier season . If a player hasnt played in the Premier of course he isnt proven , doesnt mean he wont shine , if Bony leaves his replacement makes a better wage .. its gotta say something .Not sure what people expected out of Taylor after being out injured then riding the bench when he came back . Didnt here to many complaints about Taylor before he was injured , just praise . Tremmel and Fab are almost equal to Vorm imo , so if some team comes waving money for Vorm .. TAKE IT I say

How many times have you seen him play in order to make that call.

TLF:Far too simplistic to say "They see him as not good enough for them. So why is he good enough for us."

Emnes or Jonjo anyone?

Ok let me change that a bit. Who do you see him replacing in our current ssquad, assuming JDG returns. Why spend 8ish million on somone who doesnt improve the team. We are not at this time desperate to sign somone in that position. Is there a need to sign him, maybe the club are aware of players moving on and they see him as a replacement< that is sound. But i feel it would be money not very well spent when we are strong there already.

By the way I like Siggy and think he is a tidy player. But wonder whether some are looking through rose tinted specs and over rating him a tad. He had half a good season for us 2 years ago.

You mention Emnes, he has had 2 good games for us since his return this season. If he does it over the season ten I will 100% agree with you, but one swallow doesnt make a summer. I do actually like him, but he will be a bit player i feel this year. Also he only cost 1m, not such a risk.
