There's also that US army soldier who posted on here briefly about three or four months ago. Rafa or Rafael? I think he was based in Washington.

It is the aptly named "Other R in Houston" who works in a bar; that said I don't recall what houstonranger does. I'm sure that QPRNY would approve of the choice of venue too.

Yes, I see there are at least two Houston area R's and it seems that QPRNY is not the same QPR New York poster, who sports this licence plate that I rather like:-

No thats not me, but I do have an English friend who had a Cadillac back in the 80s with the license plate "BOLLOCKS". Nobody ever said a word. (He has a bar in Florida now)

I would approve the choice as it would mean less of a distance to roll home, however, distance has never stopped me from going to a piss-up.

Absolutely brilliant lads. Well done to one and all.

Queens, is that you in the middle picture on the top row, standing with someone else and you're the one on the left?

    Kilburn & others.

I hadn't realised that you were worse off for television coverage than the men from down under & appreciate that your meet up might have to wait until we are back in the so called promised land!

There may not be a great number of you on not606 but there are many more of you using other Rangers boards including Mac, the main man on QPR Rport (believe he is in NY). I also know an R in Houston who uses Report by the name of Texas Ranger. I used to go with him in the late 60's/early 70's to the Bush. He is the original R from Chesham!

While Queens is obviously at work early and not online, I will confirm that Queenslander is on the left and queenslandranger is on the right. A fantastic night was had by all, we almost had the pub to ourselves except for a few interlopers. An errant Chelsea can copped a spray near the end of the match, bit of alcohol fuelled tension at 2-3, but an almighty roar and relief when the third went in.

    We will do it again

Ok bud, will wait to hear about a trip to Bris....
Remember I won't be around for Leeds game, hoping to be watching a stream somewhere exotic as I don't expect to find Sky in a hotel in the middle of Africa.

From New York to S Yorks... veggie girl flies in for big apples from the Old Country

FORGET breakfast at Tiffany’s... Christmas dinner in one Wombwell cafe is so good that two lip-smacking Americans flew in all the way from NEW YORK to relish it!

Donna Pettinato, was determined to keep her date with Coles’ High Street cafe, whatever the weather. So, in the midst of the winter snow, the 45-year-old native New Yorker and pal Megan Day from Buffalo County made it all the way to South Yorkshire, and had a Christmas celebration to remember.

Donna is a pen-friend of some 32 years standing to Beverley Jacques of Rose Grove, Wombwell. And dressed in red, white and blue “Rasta” wigs the girls – plus 11 more guests – all piled into Coles for

Bev’s sister Eileen said: “There were about 13 of us in the end. I bought them red, white and blue Rasta wigs that lit up.

“Megan had the full Christmas works, as did most people, but Donna is vegetarian so the cafe did her a special cheese toastie with seasonal veg.”

She added: “The cafe had prior warning and made a big fuss of the Americans as they always do, having met them before”.

Bev met Donna in her teens – through a pen-pal link, via television programme Big Blue Marble. Letters winged their way across the Atlantic for years before being replaced by email.

Eileen added: “Bev has been out to New York and got ridiculously excited about it – but I can’t understand New Yorkers getting all wound up about a trip to Wombwell.

“They love it here though, and also enjoyed trips out to the Barley Sheaf and on their last night, the Dearnesman.

“They consider it a highlight to shop at the local Tesco, and stock up on Yorkshire teabags and Curly Wurly bars.

“On previous trips we’ve been to York and Edinburgh. This time we took them to Brodsworth Hall, and we’ll go there again in the future when it’s fully open.”

The Yorkshire-loving Yanks also got to see a stage production of Kes at Penistone – featuring their friend.

Bev auditioned with L S Theatre Productions and landed her first ever stage role, with two speaking parts.

She now hopes to join the group’s next production in the New Year.

Coles’ proprietor Andy Cole said: “It’s great to know someone will travel so far to come and enjoy their Christmas meal.

“These ladies have been before so they’re like old friends, and they’re always welcome.”
