Oh I wish my kids had seen me win things, it was brilliant with the lads but my girls and boy would be something special. Loved that story. Thank you for sharing
I’ve taken my lot to primrose on a few occasions, some wonderful memories but my better half always stopped me from entering those darts comps, I’ll be honest I think she’s a little envious of any attention I’d get, “ no you’ll show us up “ was always her reply…she can be a right jealous sod sometimes, comes with being spoilt all her life lol
Years ago the petrol station on the main 4oad near Primrose Valley was owned by Jackie Charlton, Billy Bremner and Johnny Giles.
Yes. They were involved in a few ventures, together and individually, in the area. This was back into the late sixties, early seventies. Johnny Giles always had a sharp business brain planning for the future. He was involved in insurance planning and pensions when I worked in Leeds in the late 1960s.
Never. Stood. A. Chance. FACT Fallon Sherrock falls at the first hurdle at the World Darts Championship as Steve Beaton defies the boo-boys and ignores the fanfare to dump out the fan-favourite Queen of the Palace at the end of her impressive year
This darts stuff is really good entertainment from the crowd Like a cross between the all day drinking of cricket, the boisterous of a rugby crowd and the songs of a football crowd with added ingredient of fancy dress party / new years eve and stag do... The darts is good as well
One of the best night outs you’ll go to, a few of you on a dirty great table, night in the hotel… will live long in the memory
