There was definitely a South American centre half that we were after last season, but decided to stay - can't remember who though
I’ve been picking and choosing my games, partly the times and I don’t really like watching every single match. Germany looked terrible, but that ‘goal’ in extra time is certainly debatable. My outsiders were Japan and Morocco. Still have one through. Let’s hope we don’t mess up against DR Congo!!
If I had joined my son's sweepstake in Margate last week, I would have put a tenner on France to win! So how do they differ in developing their game, coaching etc apart from having a brilliant manager?
They have centralised elite academies, community centres, where talented players are all trained by ultra-elite coaches during the week and returned to their clubs at the weekend. Their youngsters are also exposed earlier to top flight games rather than being loaned out like they are here in UK.
