The game isn’t the most exciting of the tournament, granted. What we need is a bit more oomph from the presenters. Ok we don’t want them to lie and say it is the most exciting match they’ve seen. But at least do not push viewers to switch channels.

Lawrenson gives the impression that he is being coerced into presenting this match, that he’d rather be anywhere than at that match and that his beloved has been kidnapped and his presentation of that match was the ransom demanded. He is so pathetically uninterested and if the presenter is so lethargic and condemning why should us viewers stay there to watch and listen?

Why oh why does the BBC still employ a reluctant presenter? The worse pundit by a long distance at the WC.

Edit: I'm not a big fan of Keown either but worst pundit had to go to either Evra who was just window dressing or Martin O'Neill who when all those years ago I actually liked when he did his first world cup on the bbc ... this time he sounds like a crotchety arrogant bastard who's opinion is all that matters... he talks over anyone who disagrees with him.

There should be a luminous pink card shown for play acting...doesn't have to have an actual foul going with the card ...it'd just be the refs expression of disdain for drama queen arseholes.

I'd watch a game because I wanted to see it, regardless of the presenters' enthusiasm, or lack thereof. In fact, I'd prefer it if they said nothing other than the name of the player in possession as I have no real interest in their opinion. The only reason I have the sound on is for a bit of crowd atmosphere.
I often watch our games on foreign streams where I have no idea what the commentator is saying. Much more preferable.
