Whatever Klopp says about Karius in support of him and why wouldn't he support him, he's got to be worried about how he's going to handle himself after the CL final and all the palaver following it. Pre-season will give him a good look at him and I would expect Klopp to be playing him even if Mignolet was available - he'll be on his way home now too. It's an either or JB, either Klopp still rates him and he's still our number 1, or negotiations are going on elsewhere to buy a better quality keeper.
He had no choice but to play him tonight tbf.

Klopp being very diplomatic about Karius's clanger tonight.
"On the first goal conceded by Loris Karius…
Nobody likes that goal, but if we talk about the second goal – I think it was Millie’s fault together with Chirivella. Two brilliant footballers make this mistake, which one was bigger? I would say the mistake of the two boys, but we don’t talk about it. Loris concedes that goal, but we cannot start a story always after each mistake. Mistakes will happen; I don’t like it, he doesn’t like it, but it will happen, so let’s carry on and make the best of all these situations by learning from them. That’s how it is."
Thing is, would he get away with that statement if it was an important league or European game?
No way, but that kind of statement might become the norm if we don't sign a suitable, reliable alternative.
Of course not. He wouldn't get away with throwing a cm playing cb (and a kid) and Milner under the bus even though the did **** up royally.
It was a poor effort for karius
Milner ****ed up big time and Klopp didn't mind saying it, but if he feels it's okay to criticise when necessary it should be across the board, not to use one players **** up to cover up another's, that smacks of favouritism.
might be shopping in january
When the club would be grabbed by the bollocks by any selling club, we'd get taken to the cleaners for what could only be seen as Klopp's miguided loyalty to his fellow German.

If Karius turns it around, a lot of people will have a tonne of humble pie to eat...![]()
after watching mbappe tonight I think he's going to be the next Neymar...show some tricks then be constantly throwing himself to the floor.
****ing shocking display tonight!
He is quality, much better than Neymar imo who is over rated. He probably has been playing with Neymar too much at Paris and picked up his habits
Yes and I hope he stops doing it. Liked the guy until he started diving unnecessarily. But he is quality. Neymar has a larger box of tricks which makes him stand out more but Mbappe is more direct and a better team man.
I can't understand how that team can bottle it when the players have played at the highest level and won the biggest trophies. A lot of blame goes on the English media for putting so much pressure on the team.

Thought France edged it last night, not too much in it.
C'mon Croatia, lets at least have some quality in the final![]()
