It's a good thing him making mistakes in pre-season, no? Not for him personally obviously but the more mistakes he makes, Klopp has to take notice. It must force his hand.
It's an either or JB, either Klopp still rates him and he's still our number 1, or negotiations are going on elsewhere to buy a better quality keeper. He had no choice but to play him tonight tbf.
He had no much chance in 1:1 It was a Bad error by defender letting the guy in and he did well in scoring Karius went to one side and the guy delayed hitting it the slotted it.
Whatever Klopp says about Karius in support of him and why wouldn't he support him, he's got to be worried about how he's going to handle himself after the CL final and all the palaver following it. Pre-season will give him a good look at him and I would expect Klopp to be playing him even if Mignolet was available - he'll be on his way home now too.
Klopp being very diplomatic about Karius's clanger tonight. "On the first goal conceded by Loris Karius… Nobody likes that goal, but if we talk about the second goal – I think it was Millie’s fault together with Chirivella. Two brilliant footballers make this mistake, which one was bigger? I would say the mistake of the two boys, but we don’t talk about it. Loris concedes that goal, but we cannot start a story always after each mistake. Mistakes will happen; I don’t like it, he doesn’t like it, but it will happen, so let’s carry on and make the best of all these situations by learning from them. That’s how it is." Thing is, would he get away with that statement if it was an important league or European game? No way, but that kind of statement might become the norm if we don't sign a suitable, reliable alternative.
Of course not. He wouldn't get away with throwing a cm playing cb (and a kid) and Milner under the bus even though the did **** up royally. It was a poor effort for karius
Milner ****ed up big time and Klopp didn't mind saying it, but if he feels it's okay to criticise when necessary it should be across the board, not to use one players **** up to cover up another's, that smacks of favouritism.
maybe he knows this can spiral quickly and is trying to cut it short. may be he knows.milner won't make another mistake leading to a go as midfielder but knows every muscle karius moves is under a spot light.. even when warming up. in the end klopp could be like thresea may here. he can say what he likes but the knives are.out and it's only a matter of time. I dunno but it seems to me that if this doesn't come.to a head before August 9 off might be shopping in january
When the club would be grabbed by the bollocks by any selling club, we'd get taken to the cleaners for what could only be seen as Klopp's miguided loyalty to his fellow German.
Couldn't agree more, but even before the CL final **** ups he was iffy, tonight he just seemed animated and not arsed when the camera focused on him. But if he does a David De Gea and turns it around from a **** start I'll have two big helpings of that humble pie, alas though I doubt that.
after watching mbappe tonight I think he's going to be the next Neymar...show some tricks then be constantly throwing himself to the floor. ****ing shocking display tonight!
He is quality, much better than Neymar imo who is over rated. He probably has been playing with Neymar too much at Paris and picked up his habits
Yes and I hope he stops doing it. Liked the guy until he started diving unnecessarily. But he is quality. Neymar has a larger box of tricks which makes him stand out more but Mbappe is more direct and a better team man.
in easy league learning bad habits of neymar. I can see him stalling development. already a very high level but can he raise game from French league to last 16 of cl or we?
you think it’s the media putting pressure, maybe the way players have prepared in the past isn’t right. Maybe it’s not having the self belief/arrogance that others have. I think this group of players have that self confidence and couldn’t give a **** what the media say, they have already surpassed expectations of the fans and media. But they all talk of not being done yet, that only winning will be seen as a success....that’s the right attitude. Two very tough games, for the chance of glory.
Thought France edged it last night, not too much in it. C'mon Croatia, lets at least have some quality in the final
France were brilliant in defence and look very dangerous on the break. Will be France as slight favourites whoever they face
