Personal current rank with corresponding gaps representing separation of tiers. All in all, I believe my top 4 have about an 85% chance to win the tournament, while the field has like a 15% chance.

Flame me at will with disagreement

Spain/Germany
France/Brazil

Belgium/Argentina/Portugal/Croatia

Poland/Colombia/England/Uruguay/Switzerland

Denmark
Morocco/Peru/Mexico/Egypt
Serbia/Nigeria/Senegal/Iran/Iceland/Costa Rica
Australia/Russia/South Korea/Japan
Tunisia/Saudi Arabia/Panama
In terms of winning the WC I feel its down to France and Germany, with Brazil as 3rd Favourites.
Spain have struggled to replace Xavi and Inestia, however I would still consider them to be Semi-finalists or better.

As for that 2nd tier I feel the gape is huge.
Argentina, who apart from Messi and the other Forwards don't have much else. Goalkeepers are very poor and the defence and midfield isn't much better.
Belgium can't seem to get it right despite their squad.
Portugal, wouldn't consider them 2nd tier if it wasn't for Ronaldo (much like Argentina they are heavily reliant on a superstar). The team that won the Euros are still one of the worst to do so.
Croatia, don't agree with them, next tier down for me.

I think if handled correctly England could have a good team in about 5 or 6 years. Some promising players will peak about then.

Right now we're kinda in a drought between decent teams...

... It would be amusing if we somehow lucked a win though.

Are Egypt in that second tier group too then... <whistle>

I think that could be levelled about all the teams at the WC this summer.

Even though Germany have an amazing squad, I'm just not sure its quite the same level as the last world cup, they just don't feel untouchable like 2014.
Same with Spain and Brazil, good squad but not as good as the recent past.
And France and Belgium, so much talent but a fragility as well.

We saw at the Euro's that that slight lack of genuine world leaders (ie Germany 2014 or France 2000s) a surprise team like Portugal can grab something. It could be a more open WC despite the big gap between the top4 and the rest.

They may have a superstar, but unfortunately they're next best players are the likes of Hegazi and Elneny. Who are average at best. The likes of Argentina and Portugal have one or two other players who can chip in.

Egypt have done amazing to qualify but they really did have to be dragged by Salah to do just that.

So the international version of Liverpool then?

Well there probably is someone in the world that is jealous of something, maybe you are sat near them :emoticon-0100-smile

Evening Diego.

**** comeback btw.

Now where were we.....

Oh yeah, you having a manager who had no big lad to lump it to so he gave up and us having salah mane and firmino who btw have each scored and assisted in each round to get us to the big final but you thinking only salah counts.

Icardi not going to WC despite being top scorer in Italy this year.

I suppose when you have messi aguero dyabala and higuain it’s a tough choice. Have to think it’s higuian and agueros last WC.

Same time Spain aren’t taking Alonso, Morata, Fabregas. Chelsea’s **** year having big impact there! And no Bellerin as well.
