So odd decisions in the games yesterday. Not sure how both penalties against Egypt were given. First was never handball, it hit his back hand that was behind his back ffs 2nd one you can clearly see the forward also had hold of the defenders shirt. How even after viewing those on var the red still decided they were pens is beyond me. Pique, no idea how the ref didn’t give the handball and then didn’t send him off for the 2 footed tackle. And the Iran penalty, jeez the fact that I think only one player half hearted appealed for a pen would suggest that no one thought it was a pen, how after reviewing that the ref decided it was is a joke. The only one csn sort of defend is the ronaldo one as it qas 50/50
this tournament is finally going to actually get going finally. great. These group phases are not do or die til the last games. Now i can take an interest. group c is really just about france securing 1st place and denmark hoping to scure 2nd with a draw while aussies need a win. Group d requires argentina to spank the pants off nigeria while croatia iceand hasn't much riding on it. should be some tears at the end again. its always good to see grown men who'd no ****ing chance of winning the thing cry about going out isn't it.
Obviously a connoisseur but I wasn’t sure from the pic they were fake. Given the choice I’d go for the big natural ones too
Nail biting for the Danes. If they lose against France and Australia win they are out. Unless they score more than the Aussies in their defeat and keep the GD the same. So they have to keep trying to score even if the French are well ahead.
I don't think France have fired yet. the danes are bang average same as a lot in this comp but they have enough about them for a nod and a wink draw with the French. the Aussies are not even sure of the win as Peru were not disastrously bad. just lousy at scoring.
On Saturday Sweden were denied an obvious penalty, there was a foul in the build-up to the winning goal scored by The Little Pee in the Mexico game - and, imo, the Hazard penalty was nowhere near as conclusive as was being made out. There's a ridiculous amount of holding going unpunished in every game, and the diving and play-acting appears to be reaching new levels. I was impressed by the speed with which VAR decisions were being made - until last night's farcical performance - but the justice meted out by the system hasn't improved much.
