I managed to see the 2nd half of the game and thought Uruguay deserved the win. Nice to see Suarez didn't need to his usual biting tactics.

Nice happy start for Ronaldo. Upstaged by bale in the champions league final and losing to Spain now.

A cracking game and, love him or hate, Ronaldo is a top quality player. Had this down for a 2-2 draw. Will see how Iceland can do against the Argentines and Messi tonight.

Gunnersson put himself about and handled Messi well.

The magic has clearly gone. A poor Brazilian side held by tiny Switzerland...for whom Shaqiri shone....on his way out of Stoke....and looking for a Premier League Club! Hmmm...:emoticon-0103-cool:

Germany beaten (Mexico very good), Argentina, Spain and Brazil drawing, France scraping a win with a very dubious penalty.

What is happening to the hierarchy of football?

    What will England do tomorrow?

I wasn't anticipating much from the first week but it has been a great start.
