England 1-0 up against the mighty Costa Rica and passing it around well. Lovely strike by Rashford. You know what, lads, I think we might go far at the world cup.

England are **** and ive never met anyone named gareth thats been useful.

 

Think we'll go out in the last 16 due to a hilarious Phil Jones flub.

 

Costa Rica are a decent side. I'm not sure why so many have been quick to do England down. They made the quarters at the last world cup having won their group (containing us), only knocked out on pens.

We were a bit lethargic in the middle period after the goal but I actually thought overall it was a good performance. Welbeck and Rashford showed what they bring to the table. Vardy is the one looking a bit out of nick and possibly not suited by how we play. Delp actually impressed a lot once they moved him into that holding midfield role. Alexander Arnold and Rose gave Southgate something to think about. We looked much better defensively than the other night so plenty put their hands up.

To be honest Rashford is a real conundrum now. He looks made for tournament football. Its all about bursts of energy is small spaces and he has it in abundance. That youthful fearless nature is really enticing to start. I just think Southgate sees Sterling and Kane as his guys. He could be one who makes an impact off the bench and then is difficult to dislodge. That said this is not the competitive stuff yet so we won't know until that is under way where we actually stand. Nigeria in the 2nd half seemed to find another gear and for a spell we looked rocky. All due respect to Nigeria, what happens if Germany etc find another gear? They'll pulverise us.

Got to be at least a 90% chance of him going. So what we want is for him to have a great world cup and we can get as much cash as possible to hopefully buy somebody better.

 

Belgium for me, just watched Spain v Tunisia, crap,Germany v Saudis, crap, France v USA, crap, England are crap. I have not however seen any of the Sth American sides bar Columbia so no clue who they are faring. Yes, they have all been friendlies but one would have thought the starting sides would have been 95% sorted by now

 

Big shock result today. Home boys Russia beating Saudi Arabia 5-0, a country well know for it's footballing greatness.

Egypt v Uruguay tomorrow at 1pm - Salah and Suarez on show. Might catch the 1st half but have to go and do a bit of work after.

Big game is Portugal v Spain at 7pm. Deffo watching that one. The other game at 4pm is Morocco v Iran - think I'll put Garden Rescue on, followed by Flog It!

 

Russia did look good tbh but the saudis were ****e even the keeper wasnt on the pitch

 

What a **** show that was ! Suarez and Cavani were woeful. Salah never made it onto the pitch either. Ronaldo v Ramos could be tasty later on tho
