Genuine question: have Argentina ever had a genuinely good goalkeeper?

Brazil can say they've had some (Taffarel, Dida, Alisson), Paraguay had Chilavert, Chile and Uruguay have both had top-level goalkeepers over the years, but Argentina always seem to have a weak link in that area.
Fillol was supposed to be amazing, but that's going back about 40 years.
Really does seem to be an issue for them. I wonder if it's something cultural?
No good keepers, so nobody wants to be a keeper when they're growing up?

Considering an estimated 62.5% of Argentines are from Italian ancestry, you'd think one would be a distant relative of Buffon, Zoff, Peruzzi etc

Argentina were lucky to qualify and are a distant shadow of any of their best sides, but France have started to click and are a good bet for the Final. Certainly wouldn’t fancy our chances against Les Bleus.

Has Lloris saved anything yet? The goals have been very good, but I can't remember him stopping a shot.

Think Messi didn't have his heart in it this summer.
He is easily capable of doing a Gazza FA Cup 1991
and dragging his team himself thru the rounds all
the way to the final, if he wanted to.

For all the flack Messi's had, and will continue to receive, I still maintain he was Argentina's best player in their WC campaign. And that is a damning indictment of just how bad the rest of the Argentina squad have performed.

They conceded 9 goals in 4 games; have two goalkeepers that are useless; a rash Otamendi and underperforming Rojo in the heart of their defence; a visibly ageing Mascherano in midfield alongside a central-midfielder [Perez] that is 32, plying his trade in his native country. On top of that, you have a manager that doesn't know how to handle big personalities in his squad and has made very questionable team selections.

When you're surrounded by so much incompetence, even a player as magical as Messi can't save you every time. He's not superman.
