The referee should have seen it anyway VAR or no VAR. They have been told to watch out for exactly what happened. It wasn't exactly subtle was it. If he was even remotely looking in the general direction of the mass of players he could barely miss it. He kept going into the melee and telling players to stay apart before corners or free kicks were taken. It just so happens though that when the two worst incidents of it happening came along he "missed it". If you believe he didn't see it then you would have to be extremely naive.

Are you saying the ref is bent greeny? You have to think that he is either bent, blind or stupid or even all 3

I tried hard not to say that Ron but ok you've convinced me. He was at the very least a cheat. Nah bollox to it he was fecking bent.

Given the reputation of members of FIFA over the years for accepting gifts when visiting certain Countries then you could be forgiven for believing envelopes change hands or ladies or boys visit hotels in the dead of night where officials are concerned.

When you look at the replays it looks like the ref is looking straight at the incidents so bent probably

Apparently Sep Blatter has turned up in Russia as a guest of Putin. Therefore that is absolute confirmation of bentness (if that is a word) I am reliably informed that he has bought shares in a brown envelope company so he not only makes a profit out of selling them to the people who offer gift aid but from the content of the product as well. No flies on him is there.

I burst out laughing when i saw that cock up last night <laugh><laugh> I wonder why Messi never plays well for Argentina but is superb for Barcelona he just looks as if he can't be bothered which is a shame as he i was expecting him to be a stand out player in this World Cup.

He just needs banning Rocky. It should be played every match day at a ground he is appearing at just to remind him what a twat he really is and the crowd to jeer.

When the Argentina lined up at the start & the camera showed Messi, it looked to me as it was the last place he wanted to be.

Those bleddy scabby Germans have manage to do it again. What is it with certain teams that no matter what happens or how badly they play they somehow manage to come up smelling of roses right at the death of a game. They should have been 2 down anyway because they were denied an absolute nailed on penalty earlier in the match. Once again a Referee bottles it and when he should have used VAR he didn't. They should be packing their bags for home now instead of probably going into the last 16.

Is it too early to start drinking, I’m getting nervous already. I have this one down as a 3-2 win, hopefully to us.
