Very very quiet week on Saints front so thought we could discuss Friday's international matches. Main events are obviously England against the minnows San Marino which amazingly has apparently sold out! and Wales v Scotland featuring our own Danny Fox.

Should be a very easy win for England and will be interesting to see who he starts with especially up front. Will he stick with the tried and tested or experiment?

Wales game is very tough to call but I can see Scotland grabbing an away win with Fox getting an assist!

Predictions?

Not surprised. England should really get double figures against San Marino.

Well thanks to Football Manager I know quite a bit about San Marino. Andy Selva who had an Italian lower league career has retired, and their next top scorer is Manuel Marani, with two. One was against Ireland where a 95th minute winner robbed San Marino of their best ever result. Anyway, if they keep us below 10 that will probably go down as a decent result.

Wales-Scotland might be quite a good game - both teams need to go for it and win. The return of both Fletchers will hopefully edge it for Scotland. Fox to score ? - I can`t remember the last time a Saints player scored for Scotland ?

Good quiz question Aberdeen Saint. Did McCann score while he was on our books. He was injured most of the time if I remember right. I would have said big Joe Jordan but pretty sure he'd finished playing internationals when we signed him.

I don`t think McCann scored for Scotland as Saints player - nor McCalliog, MacDougall, Quahsie either, I don`t think.

On 5th August 2003 McCann signed for us. Made his debut on 16th August 2003 in a 2-2 draw at Leicester. Scored goals against Faroe Islands on the 6th September and Germany on the 10th September 2003.

He did score for us actually. Carling cup vs Northampton 0-3 win.

Thanks for the info, RGM.

I see Steve is going to suffer in Portugal next week. NI are decimated with injuries. Ronaldo is likely to run riot!

Yes, thanks for that, RGM. I was pretty much convinced that McCann hadn't scored for Scotland [however, I do remember from your prompt] and was looking back to previous Scottish footballers who may have scored while playing for Saints. I was getting desperate. Jim McCalliog, Jimmy Gabriel, Hugh Fisher, even the great and prolific Ted MacDougall had already played through his short Scotland career before he joined Saints, so his goals didn't count. I get the feeling that McCann might be in a very exclusive club.!
