Spot on..a player that make things happen, rather than trying to bore the opposition into submission!!
I agree with JGF Wiz - I may not have posted that often on it but I read it every day. The thing is, with the WC and the international break, BCFC news will be quite scares, but it will restart again along with the season.
I would add Grealish too - annoying fkr when playing against your team, but that’s because he is a master of drawing fouls
I mentioned earlier about the beating hearts of players who wear U.S.A. colours that for some reason fails for those in England shirts. National pride is key to success and I'm afraid the Three Lions never reach the level of desire for their country that the Americans always will. Today's game was as good an example of how far national fervour will take you because the U.S.A. deserved to win the game more than England. Now we have to be aware of another country close to home that could cause us big problems on the right day and a loss against Wales could kick us out of the tournament. Despite the fact that there are many permutations still left for the final group matches that will keep us in the mix, but quite frankly the pathetic performance against the U.S. doesn't look good for us going forward. There are many teams still hanging around that will offer far more competition than Wales, U.S.A. and Iran and if what we have seen so far is any indication then expect an early flight home.
I disagree,I think English players hearts beat as hard for their country as any other nation, it's just football, as Jimmy G used to say, "It's a funny old game".
It’s Southgate’s tactics and selection. We set out to play deep and tempt the US to creep forward so we could hit them on the break. Unfortunately they were doing exactly the same to us. He left Foden and Grealish out of the starting lineup because he wanted to play that way. When it became obvious to all of us it wasn’t working he still kept with that tactic. The US would probably have been happy with a draw before the game - especially as we demolished Iran, but as the game progressed they would have gained confidence and felt they could have nicked it. I expect us to employ the same tactics against Wales and get punished. The Wales game will be like a local derby and the Welsh will be well up for it. Beating England would soften the blow of being dumped out of the competition and they always raise their game.
If Wales win and Iran and USA draw Wales and England go through. Wales win 4-0 and either Iran or USA win Wales and the winner of the other game go though. So albeit a long shot drawing against USA was the second best result for Wales.
only ever drunk Budweiser once ... in Germany, on our way to Austria for an Exped in 1979 ... on an autobahn in heavy traffic on a very hot day ... it was cold and 4 cans were gifted to us by the US army, FROM A TRUCK FULL OF SOLDIERS who were on the inside lane, after about 20 minutes banter and having travelled about 3 miles! Drinking whist driving! ...well only the second and last time!
