Think as they were the last to be in the draw for the world cup, there isn't too much pressure. Then, being drawn with Brazil, the media just want a good showing from the team. If they get to the knockouts then it will be party time really. One of the best midfielders, Montes, broke his leg in a friendly recently, which is also a big shame.
The USA beat Nigeria in a bit of a tepid pre-tournament friendly on Saturday. Dozy Altidore actually scored a brace - which is about as rare as Lloyd getting one in the bag.
I see Mark Lawrenson has gone down the infamous Alan Hansen pre Germany game in 2010 in saying none of Italy's players will get into the England. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup-2014/mark-lawrenson-column-italy-uruguay-3663388 Just hope that sort of comment doesn't come back to bite him/the team! Personally I wouldn't be surprised given the conditions and its the first match if the game is a dour 1-1/0-0.

Sepp Blatter says I am a racist because I think the world cup bid and success of Qatar is corrupt. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27762435 I always thought that racism was being against one race of people because they were different from another race, Sepp Blatter's idea is you are racist because you do not like corrupt behaviour.
And, of course, I believe he finds no problem with the importation of foreign slaves to do all the labouring. Nor the fact that many die doing it...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27793494 ooh the great British mentality.... let's psychologically undermine one of our great hopes... so that when we fail... we can scapegoat him... The media..... aah but hang on "we" are the media.... or at least some of us are. It is not all owned by Murdoch either
Normally, if there is a chance of 3 players making their Test debuts for England in the same game, Sky would drag out all their pundits and a load of other former cricketers to assess how they'll all do but not when there is a World Cup - whether Sam Robson hits a 100 or is out for a golden duck on debut at his home ground this weekend, it'll be ignored more than in a normal summer because of what's happening in Brazil.
