Typical journo hyperbole there. I would reserve the word "rocked" for players: Harry Kane, Jordan Pickford, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice. Not back up full backs. Not ideal but at the same time not a player who will be missed too much.
Just said similar. Your preparations can't be rocked by losing a peripheral player who was bench cover for the full back positions

The only reason I can come to that Chalobah makes sense is that because the replacement is unlikely to have any involvement whatsoever on the pitch, he just wants someone lowkey and who won't rock the boat. So Chalobah is better for training than a bigger name or someone who used to be a starter and is going to be dragging their ego around in the camp, such as a Maguire or Shaw type

It is going to be really interesting to see how Tuchel's selection policy plays out, I can see the merit in prioritising team building over individuals, but still unsure about quite a few of his picks.

Feels like it will either be an absolute disaster or we will make it to the semis / the final with no inbetween (so obviously that now means we will go out in the Quarters).

When I originally did a predictor I had us finishing 4th (out to Argentina in the Semis and losing to France in the 3rd place play off), suppose that means I have hitched my bet to the latter.

Obviously not really a guarantee of anything either way and the proof will be in the performances, but I know some of the journalists who are currently out in Kansas at the England base camp and were also in Miami for the warm up games. A couple of the ones who I chat with regularly have been comparing the mood in the camp and the general feel of things to when they were at the 2014 World Cup camp in Brazil with Roy Hodgson...

Ah excellent...

I think Croatia is a good first game to have as a gauge.

I thought Croatia would be a tough opening game for any team.

Still going to stay positive, we still have a chance.

That said - I don't think it will be a team from Europe or South America that will win the World Cup.
