Where the sun never stops shining
I thought I would try to find some places to buy tickets for the 2014 World Cup Finals, not that I plan to go, but just to have a look at how much it would cost, and what the cheapest ticket prices would be. Below are my initial findings - for the cheapest tickets available.

The opening game, Brazil Vs Croatia, which I would expect to be one of the more expensive games costs $900.00.

Even for the opening game and everything that goes with it, I found this figure to be quite staggering, especially when you consider that the good people of Brazil are not exactly renowned for the wealth. So I looked at a few other games.....

Algeria Vs Russia - $440.00
Mexico Vs Cameroon - $704.00
Spain Vs Netherlands - $545.00
England Vs Italy - $418.00
Uruguay Vs Costa Rica - $330.00
Honduras Vs Ecuador - $248.00

While considerably cheaper, still bloody expensive for 90 minutes. Bare in mind, these are prices just for tickets - no hotel, no flights, nothing - just tickets!

As much as I love football, I could never justify paying such ludicrous sums to watch Norwich, let alone a national side.

I do agree Thai, though I'd imagine the world cup in Brazil will be one of the craziest of events to go to. I'm sure it would be a memorable trip! I suppose the cost of the first game includes the opening ceremony but still $900 is crazy. You'd have to expect (read: hope) that there must have been some cheaper tickets for locals via some sort of lottery but the way FIFA is i'd not be surprised to hear that those tickets were re-allocated to sponsors.

No chance i'd be making the trek over due to those costs and other commitments so I plan to enjoy games with a beer in front of the telly and wait for the inevitable penalty pain to kick in.
