Senegal went out on yellow cards and Nigeria were a goal away from qualifying ahead of Argentina - I said I'd be surprised if at least one of them didn't get out of their group - it didn't quite happen but they were as strong as I thought they would be. Closer than you writing them all off as no hopers I'd say.
Westlake I have just read your predictions back. France not to make it out of the group and Belgium to flop. You called Croatia. But you thought Tunisia might make it out of our group. Tunisia is an African nation just so you know.

Usually it's pretty predictable but it has been without a doubt the best World Cup since the 70s. The way Croatia played in the final showed what a good side England really are now. I think we will continue to build on this team and play in the final at Wembley in two years' time. I think every English player in the Premier League in their mid-20s or younger is going to be inspired and give an extra 10% to try to get in that team.
Having been to Kaliningrad and made to feel extremely welcome by the locals, agree, loved it. Not sure it topped Brazil for going to but still world class.
