90% of the National Anthem's do make sense, but people still take pride in singing it while appearing for your Country at the biggest competition in the World.

But most anthems aren't asking you to sing along whilst pledging allegiance and subservience to your inbred aristocratic and irrelevant overlords, they just praise the attributes of the country and the people themselves rather than focusing on and bigging up the royal family.

 

If England win the WC with 5 Liverpool players starting (and 1 on the bench) do we get to claim it as a trophy in the same way West Ham do?
