For some quaint reason Rooney's back on the left where he did so badly before, and immediately there's a bloody great gap down their right. I thought Wellbeck had a decent game.
Everyone thinks Chavski invented anti-football, but the Italian teams have been doing it for decades both Club and Country. Get one goal in front and the shut the game down, drop players back into defence and settle for the 1-0.
BBC Sport Chief Football Writer Phil McNulty in Manaus England v Italy (23:00 BST) "Would Roy Hodgson be bold or cautious? The selection of Raheem Sterling answers that one. A decision to be applauded." **** off Phil. Sterling destroyed the league this season. Whereas Rooney did **** all and is still an automatic pick out of position. A decision to be applauded would be a balanced team chosen on form and not on the number of BBC articles. Yeah the Italians are real ****ing scared of Rooney aren't they? And throwing Barkley on (also out of position) when your tactics have ****ed the game isn't bold either. Drop Rooney you cowardly twat. It's so ****ing obvious. #jinx
Lallana on, Studge off with a knock. Leaves Rooney upfront, at least he doesn't have to do anymore defending this game.
Aspas would have had more presence and things to offer than Rooney. On another note, strange to still be watching a game at gone midnight.
He's on the left of centre though, where he's just jogging watching Italians run past him. Baines doesn't have a snowball's defending against two or three all the time. Great cross for the goal from Rooney, but he's been dire otherwise.
Glad England have lost... never gonna win it so going out as soon as possible stops all the bullshit expectancy across the country.
