It's all about opinions Proud, for what its worth, I'm not sure if any of the above would have got a place in the Italian side that won it, with the exception of a fit and on form Rooney.

Wholly agree ... we built up the 'Golden Generation' to a completely unrealistic extent ... of that lot only Joe Cole and Rooney could actually take the ball past a man whilst in control of it and even then, not like Gascoigne could or Wilshire now ... some good atheletes but most technically lacking - as the results proved.
