Is it any coincidence that the three people who won golden boot, golden glove, and player of the tournament are all sponsered by addidas.

No one can argue that James Rodriguez did'nt win the golden boot but Messi player of the tournament !!!!! and even Manuel Neuer winning the golden glove award is debatedable with such contenders as the Chilian, Nigerian goalkeepers having great tournaments or how about Tim Howard who made a record number of saves against Belgium.

I guess it's no suprise that these awards are sponsered by Addidas too

Neuer fully deserved his award. And probably the one messi got too.

The longer the competition went on, the more I was convinced that the whole thing was fixed.
There were some diabolical refereeing decisions especially in the latter stages.

The South American teams were getting the better rub of the refs decisions. But how the German keeper didn't walk last night after leading with his knee was a joke.

That German team massively missed Khedira last night, the gaps in the middle that the Argies left he'd have picked them apart for fun. Such a shame the guy got injured and missed the final. Kroos just didn't get going properly without Khedira, I've no doubt about it if he was a starter they'd have comfortably won inside 90 minutes.

Khedira was my unsung player of the tournament, but really it has to got to James Rodriguez, definitely not Messi.

The only argie that deserved an award was Mascherano - he was far better than Messi this tournament - Probably Fifa and Adidas in cahoots!

Khedeira is awesome too terry - fantastic footballer

I'd agree with that, although he didn't deserve an award either, he was a much better player overall than Messi. Looking back it will be a shame that Messi doesn't win a world cup winners medal if he retires without one but the fact is, that Argentina side didn't deserve to win this World Cup.

That German team are going to take some beating at the Euro's. Few promising youngsters like Werner and Avdijaj coming through as strikers as well, could be only getting better for them!

All the awards went to players sponsored by addidas, the two finalists also wore addidas, just saying

I wasn't exactly keeping a close eye on him but all I heard from most pundits was that he was generally disappointing by his standards!

I know he's not exciting, no flare and not very fashionable but for me Mascherano was player of the tournament by a country mile. He was awesome, without him an average look Argie team wouldn't have seen sight of the final.

My thoughts were that whoever lost the final, player of the tourney was coming from the other side, bone idle FIFA ****ers.

Argie win, player of tourney wwould have been Muller.

We, and all around the world, know that only Rodriguez & Neuer were contenders for the awards, Neuer, as mentioned above, could have been justified for both.

Rodriguez impacted every game and lit up the tournament, it was his, and we all know it.

Mascherano was very good, he was not as sensational as being said, Iran went through Argentina for fun, for a start, as did Bosnia.

I don't personally think Neuer is debateable, despite the brilliant showings of Ochoa, Bravo & Howard.

In terms of Adidas, well something like 70% of players at the tournament were Adidas backed, that always gives a huge possibility that the winning guy would be in there boots.

James Rodriguez wears Adidas also, as a point of note.

    Personally think

James Rodriguez/Thomas Muller should of got the Player of the Tournament Award
Keylor Navas should of won the Goalkeeper of the Tournament Award

    Yep, agree with that.
Mind you, I gave up after 90 minutes last night.
Just couldn't sit through another 30 of such dross.

The commentators were ****ing over Schweinsteiger so much I could barely take any more. He's a cracking player but to be fair, we see Scott Parker putting shifts like that in every weekend, given far too much credit for getting his shirt dirty and breaking up play, and a little cut to the eye.
